The morning was very busy as usual but Lily was feeling so lethargic. Her heart was heavy.
'Master' a maid called to get Lily's attention.
'Did you bring the flowers?' Lily asked after noticing her.
'Yes Master,just as you have told me. 1 white Lily, 1 white Rose,1 white Daisy.' the maid gave the details.
'Thank you. Please go and call Sayo.'Lily politely asks her maid as she was not feeling good.
'I'm here,Lily.'Rose gets in the room.
Today both of them are wearing black. Lily in a black simple gown and Rose in black pants,shirt and waistcoat. The silk bob hair was a match with her dress.
'I hate to admit but this much short hair suits you very well.' Lily compliments Rose's hair that was cut short to up shoulder length.
'I knew it right away,long hair is not for me.'Rose assured Lily.
'Still ,long was better.' Lily pouts.
It's been more than 7 years.
For the past 7 years they couldn't get outside of their premises. Now that they are 8 years old they can go alone somewhere without anyone escorting them. They have become stronger than they ever were in the past. Siya didn't wait around when Sayo was training herself with the Ruan clan's vice clan-head. The opportunity did divert her from the study but that was worthy enough. That had made them free.
Today They had disguised themselves to look like girls in their teens.
'Girls!' Erliyen was coming to their room which made them alert.
'Oh! No! Mother is coming!'Lily was worried thinking they might not be able to go out.
Rose suggested,' Let's teleport there.'
Erlyien found the room empty. A faint smell of flowers touched her. She saw some flowers.
'Laila!' Erliyen calls the maid. Seeing her expression the maid answers.
'Seigneur'
'They were the one who ordered these?'
'Seigneur Ruan.' Laila answers without hesitating.
'Did they say where they were going?'Erliyen wanted to know where the girls went as she found it mysterious.
'Sorry Seigneur. I don't know.'Laila became a bit nervous.
The roads are still as crowded as ever.
The crowd disappears and becomes solemn when the road connects with Cheriton Road Cemetery,Folkestone.
Embracing Lily's arm from the side Rose was walking slowly. Lily was walking very slow today. She hasn't forgotten this day ever since she can remember.
Footsteps ended when there was a small tombstone. With flowers covering the engraved name "Leon Rigil,a kind stranger and a beloved priest,October 9th 1865" was the only thing she could do back then. Offering their piece of grave which they won through lottery.
For an unknown reason Lily was attracted to try her luck in it as she never won the normal lotteries. Maybe her luck knew their fate that they would die very soon and took pity. Looking to the side,there was a joint grave with one stone written their name on it.
"Lily,Rose & Daisy,Lirio,1868".
Their tears didn't stop. They were surprised at their grave and didn't know they were buried here. To think their death was blessed when she didn't deserve it,Lily was so very thankful that they were buried together.
'I'm sorry Father Rigil!'Lily apologies.
Lily took out the daisy separating from the lily and the rose,placed it on the grave theirs. A mother's heart was still alive with the loss of her both kids.
"One died in my womb in it's darkness and the other outside the womb,in a bright,poor,cruel world. Because she was able to breathe,she had to die. If you needed to take them away from me in the end,if you had to give them to me to kill them,then why did you give them to me at all!?" Lily was breaking inside while asking for an answer from God.
"Tears light down the heart,''they say! But how long does it take to stop the pain?" Rose starts thinking.
Rose didn't stop Lily's crying for a while but after sometime she couldn't watch anymore. She knelt down to hold onto her chest. Tears didn't stop.
'Lily! Please.' Rose requests.
After a while she wiped away her tears and then wiped off Lily's tears as well.
'Tears...are the same...for all of us?! Human or Not !? Why didn't it lessen now that we are not human? Why hasn't our soul changed? Why is everything the same?' Rose too was feeling an unbearable pain while trying to question herself.
A far within a distance Rose saw a shadow which was watching them. She frowned. The figure approached and bowed to them. It had a cloak-like figure. Rose nodded to the bow.
'You were the one who took care of Cleric Rigil?'
He asked. Hearing the question Rose tried to shield Lily with her hand taking her to the side.
'My sister was the one.'Rose answers with a firm voice .
'I have been searching for you,miss.',he bows before them.
Lily was confused so she tried to clearly know,'On..what cause?'
'This…' the figure handed over something from his hand. A ring,a gold ring without a stone.
'A ring?'Lily was more confused at the situation.
The figure explained,'It's a paired ring, Silver ring with the family emblem is worn by clan head's members and…'
'Gold with the same emblem represents their partners, ya we know that! What of it?'Rose impatiently asked with an irritated voice.
'It's a part of the mystery he has been looking for. He said to give it, after his death to the mother...who had..killed her child and ask her to pass it down to the firstborn of theirs with odd eyes' the figure fearfully elaborates as Rose was getting mad.
'I..I will take care of it.'Rose took the ring and kept it inside her pocket.
Lily was frozen in her place.
The figure left the cemetery.
Rose held Lily's hand and made her walk. After a few steps Lily couldn't walk. She started laughing and crying at the same time.
'Lily!?!'Rose was shocked to see her like that. Lily didn't stop laughing
"I am....'A mother who killed her child'.. ha ha..ha. ha!"she thought to herself.
'Did you hear Rose? I'm foretold as 'A mother who had killed her child'.Lily asks while grabbing both Rose's arm.
'Lily! Lily!'Rose couldn't make her stop. She held her tight and shouted inside Lily's mind,"Lily!!!Stop!!"
"Why? Why am I the one? I loved my child too. Why won't any of them understand that I was shackled!"she started to mumble like a mentally disabled person.
Her hands were shackled with poverty,with hunger, with depression. Lily tried but after Father Rigil died, no one would buy her paintings. That's when Lily realised that Father Rigil was the only source of her earnings. He knew Lily wouldn't take any alms,so he kept buying all those useless paintings,all those times without letting her know. Lily keeps saying that she could sell only for a few times as one would buy her paintings.
'I couldn't beg because of my self-respect,I'm sorry.' Lily apologies to Rose.
'Stop Lily! I know..'Rose tried to calm Lily down.
Lily had thought of that too. She tried once, begging,but they offered her to sleep with them,to make her a prostitute. She didn't want to taint her soul, she didn't want to feed her kid and Rose From those.
'Rose? Would that have been alright? If I did?It now feels,it would have been better...to hear that I'm a 'prostitute' rather than... 'a mother who killed her child'! Rose! Would that…'Lily didn't stop her nonsensical thinking.
'Get a grip on yourself Lily! It's not your fault. It was in our fate…'Rose shakes Lily's body so that Lily could focus on what she was saying.
'Fate!?...ya..fate made me..a..killer!'Lily smiles with tears flowing down to her cheeks.
'No! Lily!! Don't think…!' Rose tried to say something but Lily stopped her,'Rose! That was my foretold fate na?'
Rose was in shock hearing that. She thought Lily had read Rose's mind regarding Mona's foretold future,'What??'
'They knew..Father Rigil,the Xen sisters...they knew my fate…' Lily had a sad smile while saying.
'Fate changes Lily.'Rose became serious.
'Right! From now on! My only purpose will be to fight fate. If it wants me to turn black..,I will turn black but won't bow down to it.'Lily's eyes became blank.
Lily wiped her tears off with her sleeve walks away from Rose and after a while disappeared. Rose stood still on her spot with shock.
