**Starlite Hotel**
The ground seems to resemble a fairytale. There were rows of cars outside the entrance. The headlights of those appeared like stars from the horizon.
The whole hotel was reserved for a formal reception party of Dave Black. He has just gotten married for less than a week in front of close family and friends while everyone was waiting for a grand reception.
The CEO of BH Industries ultimately married his long-time lover. A young miss of a prestigious family. Olivia Miller, a model well known for her pure image.
Most of the people were anticipating this occasion. Afterall, it was not only a happy moment but also a place where people with influence will gather, a place to make connections.
The arena was engulfed in flower canopies giving a striking illusion, with dripping chandeliers enhancing the overall charm. While patterned foliage, like the leaves on a prayer plant, provides an artistic, fresh contrast to their rose centerpiece.
The Bride and the Groom entertained their friends and business associates. Whereas Kyle and Layla tried to make a breakthrough in the entertainment circle. It was not that difficult for Kyle. He was sharp and attractive, with a lot of money at his disposal.
As Kyle saw Clara and Alexander, he craved to walk up to them and clear the newly created problem. It had been a few days since they last spoke with each other. He wanted to call, but it was awkward, and he didn't know what to say.
Now gazing at them chatting with people and smiling as nothing has happened caused him unable to express his emotions. He never wanted to hurt Clara nor Alexander that day, but still ended up doing just that.
Before he could think what he was doing, his legs wandered towards them. Layla saw him walking while her eyes followed his. Her eyes blazed with indescribable emotions.
Layla was always insecure concerning Clara. Even though Clara was her good friend, she had everything. Beauty, Money, Loving family, and friends. She knew Clara liked Kyle while she was still confused with whom she liked, Kyle or Alexander.
Layla's feelings for Kyle won over her friendship with Clara. Kyle liked her too, but she knew his friendship with Clara was very important to him. She filled a different space in his heart. Even if it was not love nor like, it made her vulnerable and a bit envious.
Looking at Clara now, Layla was nervous. Clara was beautiful, to begin with, but today she was dressed on the elegant side. She wore a deep olive green mermaid dress with a deep V neckline enhancing her curves. The color brought a natural glow to her skin.
Her blond hair was tied in a bun plait, given her an elegant look. Emerald earrings enhanced her features, making her look dazzling. Even though she was dressed on a simple side, she looked extravagant.
Seeing Kyle coming, others excused themself.
"How have you guys been?" Kyle asked. He thought that both of them would skip today's reception, but he was wrong. They both regarded Dave as their older brother .
Everyone's attention was directed towards them. There was a big scandal a few days back. Maybe people were expecting some juicy news about a scandal regarding the top three families.
It was a pity that none of the reporters were allowed inside the venue and nor were the guests allowed to bring their phones.
"We are great, what about you?" Clara's mouth curved into a smile."Mr. Black." she emphasized, drawing a clear line between them.
Kyle frowned at the end of her sentence.
His eyes narrowed while his hands squeezed into fists. There was no hope.
"Enjoy the party" with a single sentence, Kyle walked past them.
Soon everyone settled at their places. And many people raised from their seats to give a toast for the newlywed. They praised the bride for her beauty and intelligence. Told some old stories about the groom. Wished them both a happy married life and so on.
Amidst of all this, no one saw a person entering the venue. Until it chose to speak.
