"OH MY GOD!!" Clara blew on her hand, "IT'S SO HOT!!!"
Oliver laughed, "It is hot. Who told you to dig into it now. It is still in process."
Oliver scolded Clara, but he held her hand and blew cold air on her burn.
Clara sulked. It looked so appealing that Clara's hand was not in her control. She just wanted to taste a little. Who knew it would burn her out.
Oliver put Clara's hand under the running water to reduce her pain. Clara tried to remove her hand due to pain, but Oliver fiercely voiced, "Stay still."
Clara did not move after being scolded. Her eyes were filled with water, ready to flow.
Oliver looked down at Clara. He did not want to shout at her, but Clara kept moving her hand. Oliver shrugged his shoulder in defeat.
"Okay, don't cry. Go and apply ice to your hand. I will get your chocolate ready soon."
"Okay." Clara did not refuse. People who are obsessed with a particular thing will never care about the pains associated with it.
Clara was the same. Once Oliver's voice fell on her ears, Clara became happy. What burn? What pain? Nothing compared to her love for sweets.
----------
Evelyn could not help herself but laugh. She felt sorry for Oliver. The poor man had no escape route.
"What are you laughing at?" Clara was embarrassed. She did not want to behave like a child.
Clara wanted to be a dignified and elegant lady, but all her fantasies came crashing down compared to sweets.
Clara's face was beyond red. Her cheeks were burning. Seeing this Evelyn's laughter increased.
"Stop it."
"Okay." Evelyn's smile still lingered on her face, "So what do you think about Oliver?"
"I don't know." Clara really did not know what to think. She had not met Oliver before. He did flirt with her, but there was always a visible line between them.
Oliver was a gentleman. He was rich, handsome, charming. How many people would chase such a man?
Clara wanted to focus on her career. Love can wait. And if it didn't, then it was never in her luck to be loved. This was what Clara thought. She was afraid that history would repeat itself.
"What do you think?" Clara tilted her head to look at Evelyn.
"I am yet to meet this guy. How am I supposed to judge him?"
"True," Clara nodded, "Do you want to meet him?"
Evelyn gazed at Clara as if trying to find something. She shook her head, "No."
"Uh?"
"Once you are sure about him, then you invite me to meet him."
Clara understood the underlying meaning. If she was unsure, what was the use to get her friends and family involved in it?
They soon ordered their dinner and began eating. The mood was pleasant and cheerful. A hearty dinner with a friend was a stress-buster in itself.
Clara forgot her workload, and Evelyn forgot her stress. Laughter and jest surrounded them.
