"Mr. Black, is it?" Evelyn asked as she sat down on her chain in her cabin.
"But, I call your elder brother that." She beamed in a happy mood as if enjoying this situation.
"Kyle will do," Kyle said as he sat down opposite Evelyn.
"Mr. Kyle, then, we are not familiar with each other."
"I wanted to talk about our collaboration," Kyle came directly to the point. He was waiting for this moment for such a long time that now he really didn't care what Evelyn called him.
"I think I was clear last time," Evelyn was rotating the ring on her right hand, "IL will not work with Black." It was like she was repeating the same thing, again and again, a million times.
"I am not here as a member of Black." Kyle made it clear as his voice was filled with annoyance. His hand ran through hairs in an attempt to calm himself down.
"Then there is no reason for this conversation," Evelyn stared straight at him with a questionable look. Her clear eyes made Kyle dizzy for a moment.
"I want to establish myself without the help of my family," Kyle's attitude was rebellious, but his face was expressionless.
Evelyn was mesmerized for a second. There was no doubt that Kyle was handsome and an indifferent attitude gave him an extremely desirable aura, which was unquestionable.
'No wonder Clara fell in love with him.' Evelyn smiled as this thought hit her.
"And how does that concern me?"
"This might change your opinion," Kyle took a piece of paper from his coat's inner pocket and moved it in front of Evelyn.
Evelyn read through the paper. As she progressed further, Evelyn's eyes narrowed, and the air surrounding her sank a few degrees.
"You might need some time to digest the news. I will get back on the offer in a few days," Kyle tried suppressing his smirk that was about to break on his face.
"No need, I will contact you," Evelyn said without any emotions as her full focus was on the paper. Her mind started wandering around without much care about the person standing in front of him.
"Okay," Kyle got up from his seat as he put his hand in his pocket, " I hope I would hear good news soon."
Kyle walked out of Evelyn's cabin with a smile of victory on his face. He was waiting for the elevator to arrive. As soon as the elevator's door opened, he came face to face with an arrogant and angry face.
Kyle ignored him and entered the elevator as Alexander walked out of it.
Seeing the smile on Kyle's face, irritation started brewing inside Alexander's heart. Alexander wished to wipe that smile of Kyle's face for good. His hand irked to hit his former best friend, but he controlled his dangerous thoughts.
They both ignored each other and walked in the opposite direction.
Just as Alexander was about to enter Evelyn's cabin, he was stopped by her secretary.
"Mr. Knight, Miss Day cannot meet you at this moment."
Alexander ignored him and put his long, strong fingers on the handle to push it open until a pleading sound stopped him.
"Please, sir," Her secretary was very persistent, "You don't have an appointment."
There was just a door between Alexander and his destination Evelyn.
This realization made his wavering heart calm. He cut all the other voices in the background as his eyes were filled with an air of desperation.
Alexander wanted to meet Evelyn. He wanted to know what she was doing with Kyle in her cabin? What did they talk about to make Kyle smile? What does she think of Kyle? What about him?
Many negative thoughts filled Alexander's mind. Without wasting a single second, he pushed the door open and entered.
"Sir," Evelyn's secretary entered as cold sweets were building on his temples.
The sound of footsteps, along with her secretary's trembling voice, pulled Evelyn back from her thoughts.
Alexander's eyes stared at Evelyn. His mind was full of her image, making him unable to focus on the secretary behind him who was shivering in fright.
"Ma'am.." Evelyn's secretary was unable to utter another word. Alexander was oozing killer instincts from his body just a few seconds ago, which scared him.
"I-I tried..ed to stop..p," He tried to say with all the courage he could gather.
Many rumors were surrounding Alexander, making people wary of him. No one was sure what would trigger him to react. One wrong move or word can become your last.
"It's okay," Evelyn sighed, "You can leave, I will handle him."
Evelyn's secretary nodded before he looked at Alexander skeptically and left, closing the door on his way out.
"Mr. Knight, What brin..." Before Evelyn could finish her sentence, Alexander walked towards her with long sticks and embraced her tightly.
