Chereads / Football Lord / Chapter 5 - First Game

Chapter 5 - First Game

The match began with the black team kicking off, after which they passed amongst themselves to emerse themselves in the flow of the match.

Tony who was on the bench immediately asked the system 'So which of this players is the best and which skills are we to copy for our best chance of being chosen for the academy?'

'There is no need to look at there stats, as to obtain there skills you will have to play or train with them. Most player skills currently on the pitch, are mediocre at best, which can explain why they have not been chosen by an academy all this years.

The system continued to explain, but look to your right the boy third to your right, who is to be our right winger should be our target and the condition to achieve his skill is easy.'

'According to my system scanner, his name is John Jarvis and his best skills are speed c+ and passing c-. And to copy his skill, there is only one condition of giving him five successful passes during the match. As we cannot immediately improve your stats before the game, all we have left to do is to join both ours heads together and do our best.'

The systems voice then softly said in the middle of a soft musical laughter 'Even though I don't have a physical head.'

She later continued to explain 'As we are technically two people with one mind, we have an advantage over individuals. As I can help you in looking for the right place to pass to or the best place to shoot the ball, to wreak the most havoc.'

'Technically since we need only our minds to communicate with each other, our mind link is way more faster to communicate our thoughts. Meaning a decision which would normally take you some seconds to properly decide, can basically be decided with assistance in less than a second.'

She then Continued 'And when you later have the necessary stats of a top player who can decisively put the ball where he wants it to go then we could already be considered a Lord of Football, and may not even need to rely on me anymore. But alas your stats are appalling, at least for now.' She dramatically sighed.

Tony thought about all that she said and immediately agreed with her. The only problem he had now was for his body to do what both he and the system wanted properly. As he was not a robot and still a Human who was perfectly capable of making mistakes, he knew he could only try his best to perform well and limit his errors.

'Also, even if we successful achieve the condition of copying a skill, you will not be able to use it on the particular day you successfully copied it. As all skills have to be assimilated by the body after a full night's rest, if not it will be hard to explain how you suddenly learnt how to perfectly perform a task in the front of others.'

Once again Tony had no option than to agree with her, as he didn't want people to label him an alien or a monster. He then focused his mind on the game and observe the flow of the match.

The coach of Manchester City under 18s team was a Caucasian man with average height and a very serious looking face named Gareth Taylor. Who was formerly a player of Manchester City in the early 2000s.

He stood beside the pitch with three other staffs who held notepads and were liesurely observing the match, as it was obvious they had little hope for the match, as they believed most prodigy's would have been snapped up when they were more younger.

The match was finally getting a steady rhythm, as the black team were extremely organized and played with the impression of being an old team with a lot of chemistry. But keen observers of the match would notice that it was a result of there attacking midfielder who knew how to link the plays properly, with linking passes and penetrative runs to keep the blue team's defense on there toes.

While the blue team had a somewhat disjointed performance, showing there lack of chemistry. The black team had a steady stream of possession, probing the blue team steadily while the blue team was forced on the defensive.

At about the 15th minute the blue team finally conceded the first goal. The left winger of the black team performed a wall pass with one of his teammates to finally break the defense of the blue team.

After breaking the defense, he was through one on one and had enough time to place the ball in the bottom right corner of the post with a right foot shot. While the blue team's keeper rushed of his line in an attempt to narrow the angle, but was still beaten.

After there celebration, the blue team resumed play with a sense of urgency as they tried to immediately make a comeback. After probing the black team for a while, they lost possession to the defensive midfielder of the black team.

Who immediately went on the counter with a long high pass to his central striker, who battled with the defenders and managed to come out on top. The striker looked for an angle to shoot but couldn't and had no other choice than to pass to his attacking midfielder who had already arrived by his right side.

The attacking midfielder received the pass, while the striker immediately attempted to make a penetrative run which fooled a defender and made enough space for the attacking midfielder to immediately enter the box of the blue team and release a wonderful shot that went in after the goalkeeper's attempted to parry the ball but failed, as the shot was too powerful.

After the second goal, the performance of the blue team was even more chaotic, making it obvious the lack of chemistry and and the absence of a good link up player in the team who could help the team. Which led to the black team totally outplaying and out possessing the blue team.

The disjointed performance of the blue team eventually led to the striker of the Black team dispossessing the last defender of the blue team close to the edge of thier 18 yard box right before halftime. That gave him a one on one opportunity against the keeper which he didn't fail to clinically dispatch to make it 3:0.

After a few minutes the referee blew his whistle for halftime, with the black team happily coming down to the bench while the blue team players came off looking dejected as they already had ideas of there fate.

After the players who were to go on for the second half including Tony were properly warmed up, kitted and knew there roles for the match. They took up there position on the pitch as Tony and the striker of his team stood at the centre of the pitch as they prepared.

After a while, the referee blew his whistle to signify the beginning of the second half.
