The weekly meeting of Brent company was held today. William was focused on the data of the company. Ever since Wish visited yesterday, he felt a lot better but the headache didnt go away completely.
" The shares have decreased but not in a drastic way..." one of the analyst said, " though there was a postponement of Mr.Brent's wedding, looks like a lot of the people trust that the marriage will be held."
The employees nodded their heads in agreement. William was relieved that the people trusted their marriage. In fact all of the times, they attended a party, there always would be positive reactions by the people. And Wish never got into public scandal of any type, so the public referred to her as an angel sent to William. It was a funny term but in a way, it was also pretty accurate.
" That's good then," William said putting the papers away. " Hopefully, all you will understand the situation and work hard as you have been doing now. I will the dismiss the meeting. Thankyou for your cooperation."

After the meeting ended, he walked around the office to take a look of the employees works. Everyone bowed to him as he walked past them. The three uncles were also in their offices and greeted William once he got nearer to them.
" Oh looks like our nephew is working hard as usual." Mr.Miller gave a tight smile. While the other two observed him.
" Being an heir always comes with heavy responsibility." William replied earnestly. Though these uncles looked down on him as not experienced and unqualified to carry the company, he never showed anger. He had always respected them and being upset would only ruin their relationship.
" I just wanted to ask till when is your wedding postponement, William?" Mr.Lindson asked with a more serious tone. It had well been over a week now and there was still no news about their wedding.
William couldnt answer the question immediately. Even he didnt know till when the postponement would continue. Wish hadnt mentioned anything either. Why hadnt she told anything yet? Was he still not trustworthy for her or was he not qualified to know the answer? The thought suddenly made him irritated. Everywhere he went, it was all about the wedding or postponement questions. He just wanted a break. " How about you tell me if you have submitted a contribution, Uncle Lindson."
The three uncles exchanged looks and answered, "Of course, we have all already submitted. Who do you think we are?"
" At least we keep our promises unlike you." Mr.Ron added, " You cannot even manage your wedding."
" Is not it obvious, that your fiancee wants to stall the marriage because she doesnt favour you yet?" Mr.Miller didnt stop, adding more bitter statements.
William clenched his fist tightly but he couldnt even deny them. It was obvious that Wish had no feelings for him. Did she really not want to imagine a future with him?
" Are you satisfied now that you made me feel miserable??" William raised his voice, anger peaking. He couldnt control it anymore. The more you showed respect, the more they became arrogant.
The uncles were a little taken aback by his tone. He never raised his voice before even when they gave him lectures.
" I want the three of you to be suspended for a month." William said leaving the office area.
" Wh-what??" Mr.Lindson and the other uncles were dumbfounded, " How dare you suspend your uncles??"
He just ignored the uncles cries and headed to his office. Their words were still lingering in his head as he gritted his teeth. When he finally got in, there was somebody else in the room. " Why the hell are you here?" he mumbled throwing his coat away.
Veronica raised his brows, noticing her cousin's bad mood. ' Why do you think?" she said folding her arms, " i came here to ask you about the postponement. Its getting too late now, act before you lose the damn chance!"
" Shut the hell up..." he clenched his fist again. There goes the same freaking question. " What do you even know?"
Veronica scoffed at him, " Hurry.Up.the.wedding." she spoke the words separately so that William could hear loud and clear.
" Just say you want my mothers money and leave." his voice sounded low and raspy.
"So....whats wrong with me asking for my aunt's inheritance?" she continued, glaring. " she was the one who took care of me after my parents died. I have all the rights to get her inheritance."
" Do you hear yourself right now?" William said anger peaking again, " You sound pathetic."
Veronica breathed heavily, her hands in a tight fist. Being an orphan from a very young age had always made her feel inferior towards everyone. They all had a father or a mother but she didnt have both. William's mom was her mother's own sister and her only family. Without her aunt, she wouldnt be where she was. But now that she was gone, she had no one as her family. Was it really a bad thing to ask for her aunt's money when she had absolutely on one? Why did William always made her feel guilty?
" You would never even call mom or meet her!" William spoke still upset, " You only asked her for money to buy your useless dresses and makeup. At your age, you could have gotten a decent job. Instead you go around parties getting drunk and wasting your money with the allowance my father provides. Talk about shameless!" With that William stormed out of the room, having enough of the same conversation he hated the most.
" SHUT UP!!!" she shouted alone in the room, tears trickling down her cheeks. " Damn brat have no respect for your sisters!" she collapsed on the couch, crying harder.
Three years back, she had visited William's dad again to have the same meeting. The meeting about giving Veronica, her dead aunt's inheritance. It had already been few years, since she became an adult who was legal to sign the documents.
" I know what you are here for." Mr.Brent sighed, putting his glasses down.
" Uncle, hasnt it been too long since you promised to give me aunt's inheritance?" Veronica asked directly, impatient.
" If i take out the inheritance money now...."he said, " the company's wont be enough."
She scoffed loudly, " you are telling me, the great Brent company might go bankrupt by taking out aunt's inheritance?? do you think im a fool? at least tell me a believable lie."
" Im serious." Mr.brent spoke, clasping his hands, " your aunt Diana, had invested the most money on our company. Not only that, we used a hefty amount of the company's money to hide the suicide news of Diana and...paid another half to.....that man to silence him.....i think you remember properly."
She listened to him intently, after hearing the untold truth.
" Veronica....for now continue using the allowance that i give you like before. According to the data and my calculations, the only way to acquire your inheritance is either our company should have a big miracle like getting thrice as big than now or... when William actually marries a girl of the equal status as us. The marriage will bring twice the success. But only if the girl comes from a big company."
Her uncle's words were fixed in her mind. If that was the only way, then William will have to marry a girl with equal status. That was the only possible way to acquire her aunt's complete inheritance.
" Lets just hope William will be blessed with such girl." Mr.brent said smiling to himself.
" Whatever." Veronica mumbled leaving the office. And that was the time, when she saw a shadow passing by. The shadow of that wretched girl, Julie. She had heard all the conversation which was supposed to be super private.
But did she hear everything?
