They kept walking, searching for a safe place. The city streets, usually lively, now felt quiet and eerie. Tension enveloped them all the way.
"We have to split up," said Julian suddenly. "Our enemies will be looking for us in the same place."
Maxwell and Kevin nodded in agreement.
"I'll find a safe place for Qiara," said Julian. "You two go somewhere else."
"Alright," replied Maxwell. "Be careful."
"I'll be fine," said Julian. "Be careful too."
Julian took Qiara's hand and walked away. Maxwell and Kevin watched them go.
"Where should we go?" asked Kevin.
"I have an idea," replied Maxwell. "I know a safe place."
Maxwell led Kevin to a narrow, dark alley. The alley looked creepy, but Maxwell knew that the alley was the meeting point with a group of trusted friends.
"This is our hideout," whispered Maxwell. "No one will find us here."
