Welcome to Black Lock City
________
The Sun was completely out. No clouds in the sky, holograms projecting and advertising skin products everywhere.
Nothing but big screens of commercials, Tv shows coming out, advertising candies and other sorts of things. Chihaya, and Cash step out of the complex.
It was like coming out of a giant hotel.
The smell of street food filled Melly's nose as she looks around. These people dressed uniquely. Different color hair. Different hairstyles. People wore tight clothing or some even wore little to none.
Melly could see kids running along the sidewalk with their toy holograms and see-through phones that could be touch screens from the front and back.
Chihaya turned to Melly and held her arms out with a giant smile.
"Welcome... To Black Lock City!" She smiled and turned back around as Melly stepped out into the Sun.
Melly watched everything and everyone.
She looked to her left to see a group of teens wrestling and running with a metal ball in their arms as a few kids chased that guy. She was guessing they were playing some sort of sport or whatever.
To her right, people smoked, sat on benches, ate food, and held conversations with the people around them.
"You should go to Lockness Club downtown. Hella baddies!" Cash smiles. Melly sped walked to catch up with Chihaya and Cash.
"Where are we go again?" Melly asked.
Chihaya stopped in front of this dirty car. One of the wheels popped, two doors made of rust and old gum. From the outside looking in you could see trash stashed on the floor, seats ripped apart, and ceiling sheets coming loose.
Cash pressed a button on his hologram watch. The doors begin lifting upward forcing Melly to step back in curiosity.
"Whoa..." Melly says.
Cash smiles.
"Abigail is a little dirty, but don't worry. I only had one roach crawl from out of her last week. I don't know about this week," Cash leans into the car pulling a lever that made the seat fold forward.
"Get in," says Chihaya.
Melly leaned forward crawling into the back all while stepping on soda bottles, candy wrappers, and old weed wrappers.
She could see crumbs covering the entire floor as sticky candy on the windows.
The seat on which she was about to sit on was torn apart as if a dog had been having fun in here for 3 days without owners watching it.
"Her name is Abigail?" Melly asked.
Cash sits in the driver's seat as Chihaya did the same for the passenger. The doors fold downward almost instantly letting the hot are marinate inside. Melly could feel the heat rising as Cash struggled to get the air to cut on.
"Fuck! C'mon Abigail!" Cash proclaims. He was nearly punching the dasher trying to get the AC to work.
"Be careful," Chihaya says.
"She always wants to do this when we have company."
"I know but hitting it will only make it worse," Chihaya says.
Melly chuckled and sits back with her feet closing in on each other and her hands in her lap. The hoodie she was wearing covered almost her entire body as the sleeve came all the way down to the middle of her palm.
Cash gives it one last smack before the car started up.
The AC shut on creating a circulation of cold air cooling off everyone inside. Melly looks out of the window to see people laughing and giggling in a group. All of them with a green Mohawk, glasses, and face covered in tattoos and piercings.
Cash pulls off down the road and Melly smiles softly in her blue doctor's mask looking at Chihaya and Cash talk quietly about random things.
"She do got a fat ass though."
"Why you gotta be so weird?"
"I don't know what you're talkin' about," Cash smiles.
Melly looks out of the car one more time. Her eyes scanning the advertisement in the sky and big screens before seeing her face.
Her cyber hands became tense as her eyes widen.
"Wanted for murder. Last seen, Ida Labs in Angel Haven, Black Lock City. 3 million for her if you know anything about her." The hologram spun around for a minute. People on the street taking pictures and smiling while pointing up.
"Damn. That's 3 mil right ther' Shiiiiiiit." Cash smiles while looking up before Chihaya nudged him in the arm.
Melly clears her throat.
"The price will go higher... the longer I hide..." Melly says.
Cash smiles and looks in the rearview mirror. His teeth showing and nearly sitting up in his seat while looking back and forth from the mirror at Melly to the road.
"Well keep hiding, babe! Keepon' hiden'," Cash smiles.
Chihaya smiles and shakes her head. Her elbow on the window ledge.
"You weird, hahaha," she laughs.
"We STACKIN' that moonay, baby boi!" Cash speaks to himself aloud.
They drive over a bridge and into a small alleyway on a cleaner part of Black Lock City. As they ride down the thin alleyway, Melly could see through the front people smoking and trading drugs.
Cash pulls off to the side before opening the doors of the car.
Melly climbs out as Cash waits for her. Chihaya looks at the group of people not too far from where they had parked. All 10 of their eyes are now on the three of them.
Cash had gotten quiet when he'd seen they were all armed.
Each one holding a bat or an illegal weapon of sorts.
"Text Judah and tell him we are outside. it's dangerous out here," Chihaya whispered. Cash opens his phone and scrolls down a list of people he has spoken to.
That's when Chihaya's heart begins to race faster.
The group of people begin walking over here. Each one spinning the bat or dagger they have stolen from a weapons store not too far from here.
Cash walks towards the side door to see if it was unlocked but it wasn't.
"What you guys doing over here? Ops?" One asked.
His voice was deep and body fat. Melly could smell the cigars on his breath when he spoke.
All 9 of them begin circling around them checking each and every one of them out like they were some outsiders or something.
"Who's the cutie?" The same guy reached out and grabbed Melly's mask.
Almost instantly Melly grabbed him by the jean jacket before bringing him down to the ground. His body fell flat as she knelt down looking him dead in his eyes with her hand squeezing his jacket.
The fear in him took over as one of the other men attacked.
"AHHHHH!" Swinging his metal bat at Melly he went for a body strike.
As the bat made contact with her body, it split in half before Melly slowly started taking her eyes off the fat guy and to the attacker.
Melly had struck fear in all of them now. All of them backing up as Melly lifted her leg before kicking him in the groin sending him flying into the building behind him. She could hear his arm break as he collided with the wall with his right side.
"THE FUCK!" One scream. All eight of them take off running as Melly lets go of the fat guy. He too stands up in fear grabbing his bat from the ground and taking off out of the alleyway.
Melly then looks at Chihaya and Cash who were both covering their ears and holding their heads with a cringe face on in fear someone would die in front of them.
The side door opens and an older man stands there wiping off his hands with a dirty brown cloth.
His beard was all over the place with a cowboy hat on his head.
"What ya fellas doin' out here on tis side of town, ye?" He says.
"My boy, Judah. We got a favor..." Cash says.
The older man named Judah looks at all three of them. His jeans were too big for him and his body was covered in white hairs. Melly watched as he tossed the toothpick in his mouth from one side to the other as he studied all three of them.
"C'mon in, fellas. Learn to be cerfil out this hoe. These fellas don't cer' were You from. They'll eat ya up!" Judah opens the door wider for them to walk in.
Judah closes the door behind him before leaning forward to get all the way into the room.
Judah stood over 6'5 tall. An absolute giant whilst being built like a tank.
As Melly enters the darkroom, she looks down to see a giant Doberman dog breed looking her in the eyes. His ears pointed up and eyes filled with evil.
"That right ter' is Spark. A lil devil, he is. Ma little pup," Judah explains.
Chihaya sits on a bar stool as so does Cash. The room was dark and around them were gadgets that looked to be handmade.
Beer bottles filled the counters, tools on the floor and hanging on walls. The smell of Rum filled the room. The only thing on was a lamp on a desk that was shining on a chair like that of a doctor's bed.
Melly takes off her mask.
"Oh! Yur that one chick, ain't ya? Lil robot lady!" Judah proclaims.
"Don't say anything to anyone, Judah," Chihaya says. She leans on the counter as Judah walks over to the extremely small fridge before pulling out a beer bottle.
"Ahh! Don't worry bout me, dear! You just fine wih me!" Judah uses his teeth popping the metal lid from the bottle before taking a swig of the beer.
"Her arm is messed up. I'm guessing it happened when she was running away from Scorpion," Cash explains.
Judah lifted an eyebrow.
"Scorpion, ye? Lil fuckers," he says.
"Who is the Scorpion?" Melly asked.
"Lil scrappy fuckers. All they wan ter' do is control us folks. Take our freedom." Judah sits on a barstool next to the chair under the spotlight.
"Bring yur cute ass over! Lemme take a look at da problem," Judah demanded.
Melly lifts the hoodie sleeve before sitting on the chair. She sets her arm on the small fable while Juda lightly grabs her cyber arm using a magnifying glass to zoom in on the problem with her joints.
"Tis will take but 5 minutes to patch," Judah says.
"How much you want, Judah. Sorry to bother you," Chihaya says.
"Don't wor bout' it, shorty. I'll let tis one go for free, fellas." Judah reaches behind him grabbing a small screwdriver.
