Damon took the suit and adjusted the parameters of the suit. Behind his back was the oxygen tank that would keep them alive when they enter the lower parts of the area. Not to mention that Damon could tell from the maps that most of the colony below the ground was submerge in freezing waters.
The Commander held down the beluaman. Battles such as this were not new to those who are like them. Damon and his group started to move using a rubber boat and let the flyer that was scouting form them take a shot to the direction of the entrance.
"The Sanctum has contacted us," Mei said. "It seems like they are going to send reinforcements."
"Good," Ralf said, equipping a freshly charged battery inside his grappler. On his arms was a rifle filled with ether energy. As the rubber boat enter the area, the flyer sent a shot that broke what seems to be a reinforced entrance. Damon took the plunge deep down this area first. Mei followed alongside Ralf and Ares. When Mei arrived in the entrance, she wielded her vibrant blade to make an opening. When the water started to rumble inside the entrance, they attached their grapplers into the ground.
Tons of water flooded out of the entrance. The group waited for a minute before they swam inside the tunnel. As they continued, they realized that there were movements in the water. Taking a shooting position, Ralf and Ares open fired, the bullets they conjured spilling the blood of the belua. With the wave of Ares's hand, the blood on the water became clear.
They moved deeper inside the passage until they reach dry land. The nasty stench assaulted their noses. Damon took cover, loaded his rifle, and pied the area before moving in. Mei followed with her vibrant blade grazing the ground. Damon raised a palm, and then pointed a finger at her blade cutting through the ground.
Further the passage they saw rusted walkways and hallways. Broken down machineries of eras they could not recognize, and thick roots that pierces through walls and ceilings. Beyond a broke down glass was a large rectangular space filled with glass tanks connected to the tubes. Damon wiped his gloved hand on the panel and did not recognize the language.
"Do our database banks recognize this?"
Ralf shined light on the panel. He scanned the language with his communication and found no traces of it in the databanks. Still, Ralf decided to capture the texts and pocketed his communicator. Moving on to the next area, they found an entire laboratory drowned in mud. Ares made a straight path to cross. The group moved while feeling the shockwaves above. The ceiling shook regularly. There was the sound of waves hitting the foundations below them. As they continue pacing forward, they met with strange rubber-like belua's who had two limbs with four elongated fingers. They stood on two legs. Nevertheless, what surprised them the most was the iron tool they were using.
Then they saw it, the spire roots that inhabited an entire cave biome. An entire village of humanoid beluas curling up in fear as the cave ceiling shook. Nevertheless, that what was not what attracted their attention the most. There, in the farthest corner of the room, they saw two-footed humans that were seem to be byproduct of human incest eating on strange mushrooms, their eyes lacked focus, and their tongues were two fingers long. They also saw quadrupeds with albino skin tied on a post. Their eyes gathered on the market-like area where human-like limbs were hooked on wooden stakes and some of these unassuming belua's go on about their way as if it was nothing.
Ares was the first one to open her helmet and vomited. Mei followed Ares, and even Ralf could not take it anymore. Damon's stomach twisted. He vomited in the corner while placing his warped eyes on this village of belua. They had always heard that there were sightings of belua grabbing humans by the leg, dragging them to their deaths.
However, it seems that the belua were wiser than they were. Damon forced his rage deep. They were not etherians, but he had always thought of etherians as nothing more than humans who have ascended. He hated this sight. He was not deprive of conscience to turn humans into this.
"Looks I found my answer," Mei said, wiping her mouth, equipping her helmet back. "This is what happens if they fucking win. I do not want to be cattle. Let us put them out of their misery. Kill them all. Leave none alive."
The four them agreed. There was nothing else to say other than they rained down fire on this village. They butchered their way through the pack and did the cattle-humans mercy by killing them. Some of the belua were able to fight back, but against them who were equipped to kill. How could they stand a chance when they were armed and ready?
Wiping his vibrant blade on a cloth, Damon saw Ralf take pictures of the scenery. With a scowl on his face, he did not hesitate to send the data to a network of informants and news sites. Damon did not stopped him. He wondered what would have happen if that Outrider did not save them. He would have been ignorant. They would not know of this awful truth.
"Not going to tell me to stop, Damon?"
"No," Damon said. "They deserve to know this. I think all of you now know what the real problem is. We should continue. This is not over until we reach that place where the people we need to save are. That is assuming they are not cattle as well."
"Kill them if they are. You have no problem with that."
"Yeah," Mei said. "Let's just hope that if there are humans in the place where we are going. I want to ask them why they did not help save them. Let's hope there aren't any humans in that place."
A deadly voice came out of her. Her tone was colder than ice.
