(Reader's pov) (Notice: The Wizard King in this book isn't Julius Novachrono.)
After I left Nozel's room, I got ready and went in the Wizard King's office to organize his papers. As his assistant, I was responsible for his papers and his schedule. I wasn't very good at this job, but he still was treating me like I was perfect, he didn't yelled at me or saying I didn't do a good job at all and that was very strange because he wasn't like that with the other ones. It wasn't a day when he didn't offended somebody or fire him and that made me feel very uncomfortable. That made me realize he wasn't the man I'd met two years ago.
That day went okay, but something was wrong. The Wizard King didn't yell at anybody and seemed super excited, like he was waiting for something big to happen, but when I asked him why, he said that it was none of my business.
It was 6pm and my work was done. I sighed in relief and said goodbye to him and he responded:
"Goodbye, (Y/N)! I hope you will sleep well tonight!" he said with a creepy tone and I left.
I was in my room and I wasn't feeling okay at all. The way he said made me feel unsecure. I summoned three light minions and ordered them to look around and to report me anything suspicious. They nodded and turned in flies so no one could notice them. It was 10 pm so everyone fell asleep.
It was midnight, called them back and they didn't find anything.
"We looked everywhere in the castle and we didn't find anything or anyone who could be a threat to you, master." one of them said, but I wasn't convinced if they searched really everywhere. There had to be a place where they didn't searched yet.
"Have you searched in the maids's closets?" I asked and they nodded. "But in the kitchen, or in their rooms, or..."
"Master, we searched everywhere and it's nothing to be afraid of. In fact, there's nobody in the building so please calm down!" one of them interupted me and it was silence for a minute until I broke it.
"There's noboby in the building? How...how is that possible? This is the Magic Knights Headquarters, there's no way I could be the only one in this building!" I said panicked.
I walked around and took big breaths to calm down. I thought and opened the window.
"You are dismissed!" I said and the light minions disappeared. "Light magic: Angel Wings" I said and big wings appeared on my back.
I jumped and flew to Nozel's room. The window were wide opened and he was standing there waiting for me. I landed and gave him a hug.
"Nozel, something is wrong with the Wizard King! At first he said that he hoped me to sleep well tonight, but with a frightening tone, and then my minions searched the entire castle for possible threats, but nobody is in the building. I know that I shouldn't sleep with you tonight, but I'm feeling safe there anymore. Please, can I stay here?" I said and broke the hug to look in his eyes, but they weren't the same. They showed emptiness, like I met him months ago. "Nozel.....are you alright?"
"Yes, I am.... I want to show you something." he said with a calm and cold tone.
"S-sure....What is it?" I said a little bit scared.
"It's a surprize. You have to wear this until we arrive." he said and put a blindfold on my eyes. I couldn't see anything.
"O-ok..." I said and he put me on his mercury eagle and went to his .
It was silence in the way here and I started to be more scared. I knew Nozel too well to know that something happened between him and his father. I had a bad feeling about it.
We arrived and Nozel removed the blindfold. I was shocked when I saw where we were.We where at the Silver Eagle Headquarters. I started shaking in fear as I sensed they're mana surrounding me in the dark, including Ms.Silva's. That was going in worse to worse.
"N-Nozel.....Why are we...here?" I said and he still remained calm with cold eyes. "Nozel..." I said and he turned around and joined the crowd.
The moonlight was set on me and they were covered in dark so I couldn't see how many they were until... something grabbed my legs and my arms so I couldn't move. It was the Wizard King's magic, obsidian magic. Someone step foward in the moonlight and it was him with a wicked smile.
"Wizard King....why..." I said and started crying. "Why are you doing this to me?" he approached to me and grabbed my chin.
"Because you're a monster, a threat to humanity, daughter of the Sun." he said and the other ones were shocked. "That's right! The Sun itself caem down from sky and, with a king's maid help, he gave born to this beast." he said and pointed at me. The crowd started to boo at me.
"I'm not a beast. I didn't hurt anybody for pleasure and I didn't kill even a small insect. I'm innocen...."
"SHUT UP!" Ms. Silva said and punched me with his water magic so hard that my nose started bleeding. "Ever since you entered in my squad, you were a troublemaker for us all. You disobeyed my orders and tried to ruin my son's future." he said and my bottom lip started trembling. I looked at Nozel and he was sitting there looking at me with a cold face, it was like he was aproving his father.
"I....just...tried....to be his....friend..." I said and I was punched again.
"My son doesn't need friends, especially someone wicked and reckless like you!"
So there I was, beaten and humilated in front of everyone. Nobody wanted to defend me, not even Nozel, the person I trusted the most. In fact, he took me to that trap, how he could do such a horrible thing to me. After all I'd done for him, he... he betrayed me!
I was seized by hatred and the desire of revenge. I hated them all. I wanted to kill them. The blood in my veins and my eyes started glowing yellow (it's like the avatar state from the last airbender). I was surrounded by a powerfull mana which covered my body.
(Nozel's pov)
(Y/N) started glowing until her magic covered her body. Everyone were staying on guard, ready to shoot her. She lifted up and her light wings appeared. I know it wasn't a good sign.
Suddenly, the light disappeared, but she looked different. She wore a gold armor, holding her sword with giant wings and her grimoire had the sun emblem instead of the three-leaf clover.
They didn't hesitate and attacked her, but all their attacks dodged her. She looked at me with anger in her eyes and headed towards me. She wanted to kill me.
She was so fast that all what I could do was to make a mercury spear which made a big hole in her stomach. She stopped and fell on the ground fainted. Her light armor disappeared, but her grimoire still had the sun emblem. The Wizard King was right. She was the Daughter of the Sun.
I hesitantly approached to her and she looked helpless. I fell on my knees and started crying. What have I done? What was going through my head? How could I do such a horrible thing to my beloved one? Why I accepted to took her there in the first place? To save my life? To prove that I'm like my father? Was it really what I wanted? I killed my angel for what? For my life? Only a coward would do that and that was what I was, a coward. A weakling who doesn't deserve someone like (Y/N).
"Do... you... ever... loved... me?" she said weakly before the Wizard King came and took her.
"Is she dead?" my father asked and the Wizard King shooked his head.
"She's recovering fast. I need to lock her before she's fully healed."
"Why don't you kill her?"
"It's none of your business." he said and left with her. "Tomorrow, she will not be problem anymore."
