"General Nive?" Prince Qui repeated. "I don't know who you are." Prince Qui did not want to be a prince, but that did not mean that he did not act like one.
"Yes, Your Highness," answered the man with a slight bow and gestured to the hallway. "May I escort you back to your lessons?"
"I don't need an escort," Prince Qui answered and proceeded walking, but then he inclined his head to the direction of the man and said, "I'm not sure why I don't know you, General Nive. By the way you were standing next to my father, I assume that he knew you well."
"Ah, yes, that. You're very observant, my prince."
"Don't patronize me," said Prince Qui.
The general suddenly laughed. "Oh, I am nice to you because I am REQUIRED to be nice to you. Do you get what I'm saying, Your Highness?"
Prince Qui spared the man a glance. "I'm not stupid. Of course, I know what you're talking about. You would not be the first person who treats me like a royal out of their will."
