Prince Qui was going crazy. He did not imagine the kind of franticness this little secret would do him. He could not believe him as well… well, that and his insomnia creeping at the corners of his eyes like smoke hands constantly shaking him awake.
Sleep was impossible. Ever since he went out of the palace, he only caught four hours of sleep, so he did not get where his energy came from. It thrummed restlessly under his skin.
Prince Qui, like many other nights, gave up on trying to have some peace and stood up. Aiguo lifted his head from his chair.
"I told you it's not necessary to keep watch," he said and kicked his blanket from his feet.
"Still, General," said Aiguo. Between these three? It was Aiguo who treated him more of a prince than a general.
"I'm heading out," said Prince Qui. "Do you want to come, or do you want to stay in that chair and watch over these two mongrels?"
