Tianshi Xue was taken aback. "S-secrets?"
Guifei Changchang nodded. "It is a nice way to forget your problems when you're thinking about other people's problems."
She kept her face frozen because she did not think that the guifei was someone who drowned her problems in alcohol. "I see. Is that how you… cope? With Prince Qui outside of the walls?"
"In the first few days, yes," admitted her mother-in-law. "It's not the best way to deal with emotions, but after years I have found that it was the quickest."
Tianshi Xue kept silent. Why on earth did she think that her mother-in-law would be of help to her? Would the emperor be a better choice in this scenario? She shook her head. There was no way that the emperor would even give her the time of day.
