Tianshi Xue could not believe the line of palanquins that were making their way to the entrance of the palace. She tried to count but got lost because they were all in the same color of maroon.
"I can't believe this is happening," she whispered to Prince Qui, who was at her left side. They were all lined at the entrance, all the members of the royal family, to greet their guests.
"Hm," said Prince Qui, "you would not have believed how many princesses and young queens made their way here when Weisheng had been announced eligible for marriage. We were swamped!"
To think that they all travelled in this heat! These poor princesses, all because they wanted to marry a son of an emperor! She whispered back to Prince Qui, "This may not be the same scenario or entirely applicable, but this is one of the rare moments that I am thankful that I married you."
