Emperor Guang did not think that his mother would appear like she was having a good time. But she was certainly laughing while the Prince was walking back with her. Prince Qui himself looked pleased. He almost called his own mother a traitor.
Well, if Prince Qui was able to make his mother smile let alone laugh, then that means that his theory was not that far from the truth. The Yangs had corrupted his sister's mind and now he had to make sure that they would be able to bring her back to the right headspace.
Their plan could not move without her in it.
"Seems like you two are having a great time," he said and eyed the bunch of flowers that the prince transferred to his mother's arms.
"She has quite the eye for beauty," Prince Qui replied. "She plucked some of our most rare flowers."
"Oh, they'll grow back," said the Empress Mother. "Are we to head to the state meetings?"
