When Prince Qui arrived at The Castles, he immediately went to work. Of course, he wanted to get home as soon as possible. There were twelve castles in total, and he inspected the first four in his first day, tiring himself and the rest of the men he was with.
He had to see things for himself because that was the kind of thoroughness that the emperor expected from him. If the emperor asked him to check every screw on the hinges of the door, he would do it.
He was not like the other generals who visited these castles. Those generals merely sat and made conversation with whoever official was in charge. It was maddening if you would come to think about it.
