The sun had just set, leaving a few streaks of orange in the violet sky. Tianshi Xue prepared lamps that casted soft glows all over the balcony.

"Wow, fancy dinner," he teased. "You're forcing me to date you? What's next? You're gonna pop a ring or something?"

"It's not for you! It's celebration of my knowledge in cooking."

"Sure, congratulations, by the way," he said, scanning over the food that he currently had on his plate. He chuckled. "Is this what you called cooking? This is not cooking! This is slicing things up and pushing a toothpick in them."

"It's an hors d'oeuvre. It has to be light!" she was already chewing on her sticks of vegetable kebab.
