I woke up to my alarm's blaring.
I quickly got ready and had breakfast with my family.
I went to the garage and seeing Bruce made me smile but I remembered I am gonna be giving Alex a ride for a month and groaned.
At least he will leave me in peace or else God help me I'm gonna kick his ass. I drove Bruce to Alex's gate and honked the life out of Bruce.
'how you like that Alex?' I thought with a smirk.
After 3 minutes of honking -yes I counted- Alex came out with a stunned face.
" What the hell Lee? Were you trying to wake up the neighborhood or something?" He asked pissed now
" What do you mean?" I asked feigning innocence as he opened the door
" I just wanted you to know that I was here" I added
" You could have texted or even called" he said closing the door and putting his seatbelt on.
" I didn't want us to be late in case you didn't pick up" I said smiling sweetly.
" So you thought getting the neighborhood angry was better?" He asked looking amused now
" It was worth the risk" I said remembering his face as I started to drive to school.
" I didn't know I was worth that much babe" he said placing a hand on his chest.
" You wish" I laughed
" You are right" he said looking forward.
" What?"
" You are right" he smirked " I'm worth more than that" he added
" Of course you are, I mean you are so humble, kind and generous." I mocked
" Now, now you can stop complimenting me, I don't want to get a big ego" he said grinning
" As if you don't have one already" I muttered as I found my usual parking spot free. Guess I beat the other guy to it.
I got out and so did Alex and after closing the car I walked inside the school with Alex as the female population oggled at him.
" You can leave me alone now" I said
" No" he replied
" No?" I asked
" Yeah, no I don't want to" he said smiling down at me.
" What do you mean no? You promised to leave me al-"
" No I promised to not irritate you" he cut me off.
" And what do you think you are doing now?" I said as we stopped by my locker.
" I'm talking to you" I swear to God I'm gonna kill him. I turned around and found him a little too close.
" Can you give me some space?" I asked looking up at him.
" Why? Can't handle my sexiness?" He asked smirking.
I was about to reply but was stopped by Ryan.
" Hey guys" he said then saw the position we were in and smirked.
" I'm sorry for interrupting " he grinned " but continue please don't mind me" he added and I wanted the ground to swallow me.
" Ryan" I scolded
" What? You want me to give you the bees talk" he asked acting innocent.
I escaped Alex and walked to Ryan.
" You better start praying to God cause you gonna regret ever meeting me" I threatened then walked away before seeing his reaction.
I sat in my usual spot and was happy to find Alex's seat occupied by its true owner a nerdy guy named Jeremy.
Eat that jerk I smirked but I celebrated too early.
" Hey dude" Alex greeted Jeremy with an intimidating look making Jeremy squirm.
" Hi" Jeremy almost squeaked.
" Can I sit here?" Alex asked pointing at Jeremy's seat.
" Yes sure" Jeremy said making a run for it.
Coward, I thought
" You can't do that " I said as Alex made himself comfortable and Ryan sat on my left.
" Tell him he can't do that" I turned to Ryan for help but he only grinned.
" That's his desk you can't just take his seat" I argued.
" If I remember well he gave it me willingly babygirl" he said smuggly.
" You intimidated him to leave so you can steal his seat" I complained.
" I know not what you speak of and babygirl he doesn't own the seat the school does so I stole nothing" he smirked as I gaped and thankfully the teacher entered before I embarrassed myself.
I went to my locker first before going to the cafeteria and told Miguel and Alex to grab me lunch. Surprisingly Alex kept his end of the deal, well, tried. As I was closing my locker with no one except me in the hallway when a group of boys surrounded me.
" What do you want?" I asked pressing myself to my locker.
" Nothing really" Bryan said coming from behind them " just for you to go out with them" he added.
" Last time I checked I could deny going out with them" I said confidently.
" Where is the fun in denying all of them then?" He asked mockingly.
" Do I look like a detective to find it for you?" I replied and that pissed him off.
" Listen bitch you are going to do as I say" he glared.
" Or else what hoe?" I tempted, wrong move.
" Boys show her what happens when I'm disobeyed" he said and the group started closing in on me. I may know karate but I can't take all of them without help. They were like 20 or more. I was looking for a way to run when a body came in front of me.
" Leave her alone" he said sounding angry but they didn't listen.
" I'm warning you Bryan stop them or the coach is gonna hear about this" this however made Bryan flinch.
" Stop" he said glaring at Xavier " let's go" he said turning around and leaving.
" Are you okay?" Xavier asked cupping my cheeks.
" I'm fine " I said " thanks for the help" I added.
" You are welcome " he said staring in my eyes and not letting me go.
" So...let's go?" I asked as this was starting to get awkward.
" Lina i...." He took a deep breath and what he said shook me to my core.
" Lina i like you" he said staring in my eyes assessing my reaction which was shock.
" I know this is the worst time but.." he looked down letting my cheeks go.
" But what?" I asked curiously.
" I can't lose you to some other guy because of this dare" he said looking with so much fear and sincerity.
" What guarantees you aren't in on the dare? Huh?" I asked crossing my arms as he flinched due to my question. I'm not gonna throw myself at him just because he declared his undying love.
" Nothing " at least he didn't lie " but give me a chance Lee" he said pleading.
" Look at it this way, if I'm dating you the other guys will leave you alone and I get to prove to you I'm not lying" he convinced and I admit it was a great deal if I didn't want this hallway incident to reoccur.
" I don't know Xav, let me think about it and I will tell you okay?" I said and he nodded his head.
" Alright then let's go" I said then we walked into the cafeteria. I took a seat between Lily and Miguel as I took my lunch.
" Where were you?" Miguel whispered with a hint of concern.
" I went to the restroom before coming" I whispered back attacking my lunch.
I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't hear Ryan call me until he was yelling.
" What the hell?" I asked frowning.
" Weren't you hearing me? What were you thinking of?" Ryan asked then a look of recognition graced his face.
" I must say Alex well played got her thinking of you on the second day, damn" Ryan said high fiving Alex earning laughter from my so called friends. I glanced at Xavier to find him scowling though. I don't think anyone would appreciate their crush thinking of someone else.
Shit I have a crusher i almost smiled.
" Anyway Alex told us you are going to give him a ride to and from school for a month" Taylor inquired to which I nodded.
" Have some faith in me woman" Alex said as he looked mockingly offended. I hated to admit it but Alex kinda fit in our gang actually.
" You are seriously going to give him a ride?" Ryan asked and I nodded again.
" You will be even waiting for him to finish his basketball practice?" Brandon asked and I was about to nod when it registered
" Wait! what?" I asked turning to Alex.
" You didn't know he joined the basketball team?" Max asked
" No" I almost shouted " This wasn't part of the deal, Alex" I glared at the guy in question.
" Come on babygirl" he said with a pout.
" Stop calling me that" I said angrily.
" Okay, I'm sorry I didn't tell you it slipped my mind" he defended " please don't back out on our deal" he pleaded " please" he added holding his hands together.
I sighed " why must I be so kind?" I muttered " fine" I said grudgingly.
" Thanks babygirl" he smiled and earned a glare from me.
" Care to tell us about your deal?" Lily asked curiously earning the approval of everyone else.
" That's for us to know and for you to find out" Alex replied making me smile.
The rest of the day went well and I learned that Alex had practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Through the day I couldn't help but think about Xavier's words.
As I was driving home Alex must have noticed my silence.
" You okay babygirl?" He asked
" Stop calling me that" I said through gritted teeth.
" Not until you answer me" he replied making me sigh.
" Bryan and some group of boys surrounded me while I was at my loc-"
" They what?" He exclaimed already forming a fist.
" Hey calm down I'm fine aren't I?" I said assuring him.
" Then what's wrong?" He asked looking concerned.
" It's just..... nevermind" I didn't want him to think I was a girl who required a man's protection.
" You sure you are fine babygirl?" He asked again.
" I'm really fine otherwise I would be driving towards our graves " I said as we neared our neighborhood and I heard him chuckle.
Even at home I continued to zone out throughout dinner but they all let me be. I was in my room when I heard a knock.
" Come in" I said as I laid on my bed.
" Lee...what's bothering you?" Noah asked but I didn't answer.
" You know you can tell me anything right?" He said worriedly.
" Yes Noah I'm just not ready to tell you but I promise to tell you soon" I said
" Promise?" He said holding out his pinkie making me smile.
" Promise" I said as our pinkies connected.
" Just be safe okay" he said kissing my forehead and walking to the door but stopped
" Even though I love you, I must admit" he paused " you are a pain in my behind" he said leaving quickly before I threw anything at him.
" Jerk" I yelled hoping he heard it as I spotted a smile.
I got ready for bed and fell asleep as soon as my head hit my pillow.
