"Hola, Ava."
"Who are you? What do you want from me?"
"Hm, I can't tell you that just yet. But no worries, you will find out sooner than later."
Ava observes him. He has a lean expression, like he can get whatever he wants. He has a plain white shirt with a black business jacket on, including black tight pants. His eyes are hazel, like someone took the sun and put them into his pupils. He has blackish hair. He gives Ava bad vibes, he seems like a perfect person. There isn't a perfect person! Blake notices her staring and says, "What? I'm too beautiful for you?"
These type of men bothered Ava to the core. She had to deal with this attitude from all the suitors the Queen presented to her.
"Of course not. Now answer my question, what do you want from me??"
Blake studies Ava. He sees a mixture of fear, boldness, and annoyance. It amuses him.
"My name is Blake, Blake Titania. You are here so I can protect you."
"I don't understand. You kidnap me, and now you are saying you want to protect me? From who? You?"
"Ah. I told him to be gentle when retrieving yourself and that old geezer."
"My father is 35! And still, retrieving sounds no better than kidnapping."
Blake ignores her on purpose, walking over to the bed. He moves effortlessly behind her, as he picks up the puppy. He sits on the bed frame, observing Ava once more.
"What? Is there something on my face?" Ava touches her face self-consciously.
"No, just wondering why that amazing future was given to a girl who barely knows her right from her left."
"What are you even talking about??"
"You will find out in time."
"Don't say all that sage mumbo jumbo, tell me the truth. What do you want from me? Why am I here?"
"Come, join me for breakfast in the dining room."
He walks halfway out the door when he says, "Will you hold this puppy for me? I'm taking care of it until it's rightful owner gets it."
Ava follows him out the door, grabbing the puppy gently from his hands. The puppy looks like a little Papillon. The pups body is white, while it's head goes from a light brown to a dark brown. It's nose area is white and so is a little patch on its head.
"Is it a girl or a boy?"
"Girl, she doesn't have a name yet."
"What owner doesn't name their pet?"
"An owner that doesn't know it's theirs yet."
Ava thought on this. The little Papillon was probably a gift to someone he knew. Ava and Blake walk down the stairs, and Ava spots the white table revealing her father.
"Dad!"
"Honey!!"
They embrace each other for a few seconds when Blake says, "We don't have time for this. Sit."
Ava takes the puppy to her little bowl, letting her eat, not knowing Blake is making a note of this.
"Why are we here Blake? What do you want from my daughter?"
Ava sits down to join them. "Dad you know him?"
Eric doesn't want to say who this man is. It's better Ava doesn't know, right? If she found out who this man was, it would cause some heartbreaks. Definitely tears too.
"I uhm.. No, this is the first time I've seen him before."
"Oh, well it sounded like you were familiar with him. You called him Blake."
"Well yeah I mean.. never mind."
Ava knows her dad is lying, but she doesn't mind. It must be for a reason.
"Back to what I was saying, you guys are here for a reason. I'm here to protect you. Mostly Ava."
"Why mostly me?"
"Well darling, your future is very important to the safety of our land, sea, and heavens."
"Heavens? Is that where you are from?"
"I.. have said to much. But yes."
"I'm sorry. I appreciate the offer, really, but I need to find my mother. She is going to help me save the world in my present. I'll worry about my future later."
"Ahh.. children these days.. listen kid. If I don't keep you here, you won't have a future nor present to worry about. And plus, we have your mother here."
"Who is we? And my mother? Where is she!!"
"You ask a lot of questions regarding my trust considering I'm trying to save you here. And you don't need to worry about who 'we' is. It's my business, not yours. And follow me to see your mother."
Eric has been listening the whole time. 'Ava is too smart. She is going to figure out Blake's secret. And mine..'
