Chapter 15 - Get what you deserve

"Gilbert what are you talking about? I'm right here," the Queen snaps.

"Might as well tell her now!" My dad yells over the thundering sound of the giants' footsteps.

"Are you a traitor now?? You're in too deep you can't go back now!!" She backs my father to a tree saying, "Now do you have anything to say?"

My father glares back with burning anger, "Are you forgetting something?? I did EVERYTHING for you!! I can EASILY take it back you wrench!! And YES I DO HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY!! WE are over!! YOUR DAUGHTER should FROCKING know the truth!! SHE ISN'T EVEN YOUR DAUGHTER!!"

The Queen and my dad turn to look at my smiling face.

"What's so funny?? You just found out I'm not your mother!" She says angrily.

"One, that wouldn't be so bad. Two, I already knew. I've met my real mother countless times."

I wish you could see their priceless faces. The Queen looks like a mixture of shock and hatred. My father looks shocked and... happy...

The Queen says, "You should be ashamed Gilbert. You couldn't keep ONE SECRET!! We aren't together anymore, just so you know."

"Sorry, I divorced you first. I'll send the papers in the morning. Now, Ava I need you to go to your mother."

"I- I don't know how. I would meet her in my dreams, and she was going to show me the way on my 16th birthday." It's true.

"Then I'll go with you."

My mom looks at us both with a betrayed face, "HOW COULD YOU!! WHO IS GOING TO DEAL WITH THE THOUSANDS OF MONSTERS COMING AT ME FOR REVENGE!"

My dad smirks, "Well maybe you deserve it. Ariel will decide if she feels mercy or not."

"Dad, before we leave, why is the full blood moon so important?"

"Well this is the day the monsters in the ancient books said they would come from the grounds, starting an Apocalypse. They all want to hunt for my ex wife, since she always broke her promises after using them as servants."

"Makes sense. Let's go."

We turn from the Queen, baffled. But of course, she's not having it and she slaps my father will all the strength she has. He groans from the pain, falling down. His cheek starts bleeding. I turn to her, crying.

She just can't help that she can't always get her way, huh? Well my anger starts building up too. All these years, she could've ATTEMPTED to love me. But no, she didn't give a shloop about me.

My eyes must've scared her, she starts walking back. I get my hand ready, and I raise it to her face. She looks in horror, but that just energizes me. I'm about to swing when I stop, saying, "She's not worth it."

Me and my dad walk away, feeling great. The Queen is on her knees, feeling defeated while we stand, feeling like true rulers.
