The banquet annual party was held in the 7-star hotel owned by the Radford Group. Anyone who had money and connection, they could book the hall or the entire floor for holding their party or any ceremony you wished to.
The party was held on the 24th floor of the hotel building. From the 24th floor to the 27th-floor f the building was reserved for holding the social events or other occasions like parties, weddings, conferences, and so on. However, the 27th floor was reserved exclusively for Radford Group's or Radford's family social events.
The Godrick reception hall was beautifully decorated in vibrant colors. The purple violet theme this year was selected by non-other than the famous aloof secretary Lance. Ivan was quite shocked by the person behind this idea. He didn't know that the aloof Lance loves the purple color, although he agreed that this theme is really creative and beautiful.
If they talked about the theme, Ivan had been wondering about what would the Radford theme this year be. He didn't want to ask Fredrick because there would be no surprise.
Ivan had received permission to resign earlier so today was the last day he worked as Andres' assistant. He came to the banquet with Lance in one of the Andres cars. At first, he wanted to go with Fredrick but Lance said because today was his last day, he should go once more in the name of the company.
Thus, he rode with Lance to the hotel and Andres took another car to come later because he was CEO. Likewise, Fredrick would also arrive later than the three of them because he was a guest.
The banquet started at 7 in the evening, he and lance arrived at 6 in order to entertain the guest who arrived early. Andres and Belinda arrived at 6:30 PM. They stood at the entrance of the reception hall to greet the guest and the employees.
As the name suggested, everyone wore either dark purple or light purple or black. Ivan wore a black suit with a white dress shirt inside. Tonight's outfit was chosen by Fredrick because he knew nothing about fashion, the only thing he knew right now is sleeping, eating, watching the movie, reading the novel, loving Fredrick.
He had fulfilled his last life's wish, to be able to live a carefree life without worrying anything. The only thing he worried about was Fredrick.
Speaking of the devil, Fredrick finally appeared with his handsome face in a black suit around 7 PM. He greeted people along the way as he's walking toward where Ivan's standing.
Fredrick then proceeded to great Andres, Belinda, and Lance. He then turned to smile at Ivan and left a quick kiss on Ivan's soft cheek that he'd been missing in these few hours of separation.
Ivan widened his eyes at Fredrick and gave a small punch on Fredrick's chest.
"Hey! Did you know that we're outside?"
"So, it means that if we're not outside, I can do whatever I want, hmmm?"
"Who said that?"
Fredrick chuckled slightly and felt quite hopeless due to how cute Ivan was right now. Lance was standing between the two couples which were Andres and Belinda, and Ivan and Fredrick. He suddenly felt that he was the light bulb but also not quite a light bulb as they interact with their partner and also sometimes they talked to him.
Without anyone knowing, Harley who supposed to not appear here was here right in the corner of the hall. She looked at Belinda and Lance with killing intent. She took the phone out of her purse and dialed an unknown number.
"Do it!"
After she commanded the plan, she left the avenue with a smirk on her face.
"Belinda, who told you to oppose me and took Andres from me. Today is your final day."
Harley quickly got not the awaiting car in front of the hotel and left the hotel.
Back to the banquet, after the command ended, the waiter appeared with a glass of juice on his tray. He walked slowly to stand nearby Belinda.
However, Lance happened to see a glass of juice beside him, he took it from the tray and thanked the waiter. He liked the juice more than the red wine that was served. The waiter saw that the one who took the glass wasn't the Belinda whom he supposed to give to, he was instantly panicked and quickly walked away without knowing that Lance thanked him.
When Lance prepared to drink the juice, his phone made a sudden vibrate indicate that there might be something important to handle because they all knew today was the annual party of Godrick Group. He took out the phone from his trousers' pocket and saw that it really an urgent thing to handle, he then handed the juice glass to Ivan that was on his left side.
"It's new, so you can drink it. I have something to handle for a moment."
Ivan nodded showing that he understood and took the glass of juice from Lance. Then Lance left the hall and went outside the reception room.
Ivan happened to be thirty so he took a gulp of juice in his hand. Without a second waste, he heard his system alert.
[Host!!!! Don't drink this juice! This drink contains lethal amalgam, combining heroin, the powerful painkiller fentanyl, and carfentanil, an animal tranquilizer 100 times more powerful than fentanyl. And to top it all off, there's also U-4770 mixed in, which is a synthetic opioid known on the streets as "Pink". Host! Please quickly go to the hospital. Any second late, you will be dead.]
As he listened to his system speaking, he broke out the cold sweat. He then quickly told Fredrick to take him to the hospital. Fredrick was dumbfounded when suddenly he was asked to send Ivan to the hospital.
Ivan knew that Fredrick might not believe him so he shouted that he was drugged, if he didn't take him to the hospital now, he wouldn't see him ever again. Then without any hesitation, Fredrick quickly contacted the ambulance and the A city famous hospital for emergency cases.
Fredrick told Andres to investigate this case and told him not too forget to investigate the drink that Ivan just drank. As Fredrick was carrying Ivan in his arm, Ivan's consciousness no longer was able to stay awake due to the drug had taken the effect, he then lost his consciousness.
Before he completely lost consciousness, he told Blackie to slowly digest out the drug in his body because he had tried to get Blackie digest the drug out quickly. But Blackie couldn't do it due to his restriction. So the only choice he had was to go to the hospital and slowly let Blackie forced out the drug.
They arrived shortly after departure from the hotel because the A city famous hospital was quite near Radford's hotel. Ivan was sent to the ICU room and Fredrick was waiting outside the room. His expression was very gloomy and killing intent was surging out his body without him realizing. The people around him got a cold sweat from the chilling aura from Fredrick.
Andres and Belinda came to the hospital a little later due to arranging the banquet and the investigation was handed to Lance. Andres looked at his not so-called friend but more than an acquaintance, sitting with his head down.
"How is Ivan?" Andres asked Fredrick.
Without answer Andres' question, he asked back, "What's the result?"
"Lance is investigating it, soon we will get the result. What about Ivan?"
Fredrick sighed and turned to look at Andres and Belinda and replied, "He has just been sent inside for 5 mins."
Then the situation turned silent. Andres took Belinda who has her eyes on the ICU the whole time she arrived, to sit at the nearby bench which was a little distance away from the bench that Fredrick sat.
"He will be okay."
Andres softly comforted Belinda, then Belinda who heard Andres, nodded her head but her eyes were still in the ICU's door. Another 10 mins had gone by, then suddenly there was a movement inside the ICU room and the door open.
A fifty-year-old doctor in a green uniform came out, he looked around the hallway and saw there were people waiting outside, he sighed in relief because he thought that the patient might have anyone accompany him.
"Who is the relative of the patient?"
After the question was asked, the doctor saw a handsome young man stood up and walked to him.
"I'm his husband. How was he?"
The doctor was quite surprised but he controlled his expression and said to them.
"The patient has passed a dangerous situation. Luckily, he only took a small portion of the drug otherwise he couldn't be saved. So right now he's weak and needs a lot of rest. Maybe around a week, he can return to normal because he has quite a strong counterattack system in his body to deal with drugs. We'll will transfer him to the normal ward now, so you can visit him."
Fredrick nodded at the doctor and thanked him sincerely. He then told them to transfer Ivan to the VIP room at the highest floor. They followed behind the nurses and doctors to the VIP room.
After they settled down in the VIP room, Fredrick walked to the bedside and caressed Ivan's pale cheek. He bowed down to kiss Ivan on his forehead, then he suddenly felt his eyes were watery. He sat on the stool and held Ivan's left hand in his hand. He softly whispered to himself.
"I know you're alright now, so please wake up soon. Otherwise, I'll go crazy without you here."
Then the door was busted open and then they saw Lance walked inside softly after knowing that he had disturbed the patient. He walked up to Fredrick who was sitting beside Ivan's bed.
"Mr. Raford."
"How was the investigation?"
"It was Ms. Harley Madison."
Fredrick's eyes flashed a killing intent, then he turned to Andres.
"I hope you know what to do. I don't want to involve in your family affair, but you need to give a satisfactory result."
"I got it."
