Jayden almost crashed into a tree when he arrived at Wintown Bridge. There was nobody when he got there but a bicycle. A bicycle! He ran toward it and there it was, Morgan sobbing while looking down the river, ready to jump.
"Morgan, please don't jump! You don't know what you're doing, please just listen to me first!"
"Jayden? H-how did you-"
He showed the crumpled note to Morgan.
"You monster, w-why did you look inside my lo-locker?" her teeth gritted as she stuttered. There was something in Morgan's eyes.
"Morgan, please don't do this." It was fear.
"Step back!" She eyed on something Jayden was holding. "Why do you have that?"
"Morgan, please, as much as you want to do this, you need to stop. Some people wanted to let you down, but some people loved you and still wanted to be with you. Think about the people you will leave suffering when you're gone." He handed the polaroid to her.
"Ha! No one will miss me. Jenna is gone, mom and Lou are already up there, and it won't be long until we meet again!"
"Your mom and Lou wouldn't want you to die quickly. How about your father?" He stopped and looked at Morgan as reality struck her. "How would he react to lose his only child?"
"Dad…" she looked down and started sobbing again.
Jayden pulled Morgan into a hug. He was also crying. "You saw how he cared about you. He wouldn't want you to go too, Morgan."
There was a heavy silence. It was until the street lights began to flicker when Morgan broke the silence.
"I don't understand how anyone would care for such a failure." Morgan chuckled while she wiped her runny nose and red eyes.
"Easy," Jayden grabbed the neglected bikes. "Didn't you remember the promise we made in front of the aquarium?"
"'We'll always be for each other no matter what'?"
"No matter what."
"Cliché."
"It's true, though."
The latter laughed. "Is that why you brought the polaroid?"
"Partly," Jayden grabbed his bike. "Don't worry, you'll pass the next one for sure. Let's go, my parents are expecting you and your dad to come for a barbeque."
