Chapter 92 - Chapter 89:

[Atlas]

????: "General Ironwood, sir!"

Ironwood: "What is it soldier?"

????: "We just received word that the specialist robots sent after Emma Nemea were destroyed in Vale."

Ironwood: *sigh* "I'll send word to Glynda Goodwitch and explain the situation to her."

????: "Wouldn't something like that be better to explain in person?"

Ironwood: "Probably, but I'm not sure leaving currently would be the best decision."

????: "I think you should sir. With everything that has happened, you should really take a break to calm yourself both physically and mentally."

Ironwood: "I'll stop in Vale and then return when finished. It will be a classified leave, so you will not tell anyone about it."

????: "Very well sir."

Ironwood: "I'll set off immediately."

Weiss: "Hey Ruby, can I ask you something?"

Ruby: "What is it Weiss?"

Weiss: "I just want to know if you are doing ok. I know Topaz was a brother to you, and after the news we got, I thought you would be a little more broken up over it."

Ruby: "This is Topaz we are talking about, there's no way he would die like that."

Weiss: "Didn't the report say he fell of the edge of Atlas?"

Ruby: "Yes, I don't know why he was there, but I do know that his semblance would save him there."

Weiss: "I don't know if I ever saw his semblance. What is it?"

Ruby: "I'm going to let him tell it to you when we see him next."

Weiss: "You really think he survived?"

Yang: "Oh yeah, Topaz definitely is alive. Where he is, and why he is laying low I don't know, but I do know he's still fighting."

Blake: "I'm sure if he is still alive that we will see him again."

Ruby: "Yep."

Willow: "How are you girls doing? Is there anything you need?"

Weiss: "We're doing well mother, thank you."

Emma: "Are you serious Topaz?!"

Topaz: "I'm afraid so Emma. And by the looks of it, Atlas is still giving him assistance."

Emma: "What do you mean?"

Topaz: "These robots that were attacking you were new when I was last in Atlas. They are supposed to be top of the line, and used in retrieval missions that are considered too dangerous to send humans to."

Emma: "So now we are enemies of Atlas?"

Topaz: "I don't think so. They think I'm dead, and you are a high profile victim. They will want to protect you if anything."

Goodwitch: "All I know is that James has some serious explaining to do."

Emma: "So what do we do?"

Topaz: "That's up to you. If you think you will be safe here with Professor Goodwitch and everyone else you can stay here, or you can come back to Patch with me. I'm not planning any revenge, or anything like that. I just want to see my friends and family safe, which means we need to prepare for when things go down."

Goodwitch: "Emma, I think you should go with him."

Emma: "Why?"

Goodwitch: "You've already learned everything I can teach you. Now it's up to you to gain the experience you need on your own. That and I'm pretty sure that by being around Topaz, you will be safer than if you are here. Especially if Atlas is involved. Please don't get me wrong, we would love to have you here, but I worry about your safety."

Emma: "Thank you. I will return with him. I want to stay and try to learn more from you, but for the safety of everyone here I will leave."

Goodwitch: "We will miss having you Emma. Take care of yourself and return when you can."

Emma: "I will Professor."

Goodwitch: "Topaz, you take care of yourself and Emma."

Topaz: "I will. Would you mind if we stay in Vale for the night? I'm cool with making the trip back to Patch tonight, but I don't know what Emma has been up to so far today."

Goodwitch: "Feel free to take one of the open rooms in the leader building."

Topaz: "Thank you, I wish we could stay and help more, but I don't want to put Vale in any danger."

Goodwitch: "It's perfectly alright Topaz. I understand your hesitation."

Walking back towards the building Topaz first encountered his old professors, Professor Goodwitch shows him to an open room while Emma goes back to her room to pack her things. After settling in, Topaz makes his way to the cafeteria where he and Emma planned to meet to get some dinner. After a quick dinner, Emma and Topaz make their way back to get some sleep. Right as Topaz walked into the building he will be staying at, Professor Goodwitch runs up to him with a stressed look on her face.

Goodwitch: "Topaz, we might have an issue."

Topaz: "What is it, and how can I help?"

Goodwitch: "And Atlas airship was seen landing just outside the southern wall."

Topaz: "Do you think they are her because of the robots?"

Goodwitch: "It's possible, but there's no proof. There is a big problem though."

Topaz: "What?"

Goodwitch: "The ship is General Ironwood's own."

Topaz: *sigh* "Great. What would you like me to do?"

Goodwitch: "Stay out of sight for now. If they already tried to kill you once, I would prefer you stay out of this just in case he is still after you."

Topaz: "Ok, I will. But, if he tries anything I will step in to help."

Goodwitch: "I don't think he'll do anything, but if he does go ahead. Emma has already been notified and is waiting in the meeting room."

Topaz: "Good. Here's hoping it's nothing major."

Goodwitch: "I'd drink to that if I weren't on duty. Now go hide somewhere."

Topaz rushes into the room next to the meeting room to wait for General Ironwoods arrival. After ten minutes or so, the front door to the building is opened and General Ironwood walks in alongside Professor Port.

Goodwitch: "James, what are you doing here?"

Ironwood: "I came to explain some things Glynda."

Goodwitch: "Good, because a lot of people are rather unhappy with you."

Ironwood: "That's nothing new."

Goodwitch: "Follow me, we will discuss this in the meeting room."

Topaz can hear the two's footsteps get closer and then the door to the meeting room opens, and is then closed when they enter.

Goodwitch: "James, this is Emma Nemea. Emma, this is General Ironwood. She is under our protection James, so don't try anything."

Ironwood: "I won't Glynda, I just want to ask her a couple of questions."

Goodwitch: "Really James, you sent some of Atlas's most advance robots to retrieve her, just to ask her some questions?"

Ironwood: "I guess I'll explain that issue first. There was a breach in our security system recently, and nobody caught it until one of my men came and told me that a squad of robots that I sent out was destroyed. The problem is, I haven't authorized any missions outside of Atlas since the Fall of Beacon. I came here to apologize for the problems this breach has caused."

Goodwitch: "You just expect us to believe you James?"

Ironwood: "Not at all Glynda. I just wanted you to know that we have since fixed the issue, and I give you my word that there won't be any more problems from us."

Goodwitch: "I want to believe you James, but I don't know if I can yet."

Ironwood: "Miss Emma, can I ask you a few questions?"

Emma: "I guess."

Ironwood: "Why did you leave Menagerie?"

Emma: "I asked to follow Topaz and his family because someone inside our tribe manipulated me to be exactly what he wanted me to be. I still would be like that but Topaz saved me by showing just how wrong the things I had been taught were."

Ironwood: "So Topaz didn't kidnap you?"

Emma:" What?! Gods no. Topaz is too nice to do anything like that."

Ironwood: "I really made a huge mistake. One that will haunt me for a very long time."

Goodwitch: "Yes James, you really did. How could you let your greed get the better of you? Professor Ozpin chose you because he respected your desire to protect everyone. But recently you haven't done much more than hide away in fear."

Ironwood: "I did what I had to for the people of Atlas!"

Goodwitch: "What about the people of Mantle? From what I've heard, they aren't getting the protection that Atlas has been."

Ironwood: "That's a different matter."

Goodwitch: "Spare me your lies James."

Ironwood: "I'm only speaking the truth Glynda. I thought you of all people would understand that."

Goodwitch: "I don't understand a thing you have done recently James."

Ironwood: "Everything I have done has been for the good of Atlas."

Goodwitch: "For the good of Atlas? Listen to yourself James. What did Emma have to do with Atlas?"

Ironwood: "I was brought a great deal. Save Emma and receive soldiers on par with Topaz. Topaz alone did more than most, now imagine an entire squad of people with his capabilities."

Goodwitch: "You have a twisted mindset if you think anyone could match Topaz, James."

Ironwood: "What do you mean Glynda?"
