While waiting on the roof, Topaz and Ariel sit and listen for any indication that they are needed inside.
Lionheart: "Oh, there are more of you, and you have your weapons… Why?"
Qrow: "Why not? We are huntsman, it's kind of our thing. You ok Leo?"
Yang: "Mom?"
Hearing a small flapping of wings and suddenly hearing Raven's voice puts Topaz on edge.
Topaz: "Ariel, let's go. Trouble is starting."
Climbing through a hole that Topaz had subtly made in the roof, Topaz and Ariel quietly drop down behind Professor Lionheart and Raven. Suddenly Raven opens a portal next to her and a fireball shoots out, hitting Ruby and knocking her down. Out of the portal steps Cinder, Emerald, Mercury and one more gentleman that Topaz didn't recognize. Topaz didn't know any of their names until Ruby had told them who was behind the attack after he had woken up after the fall.
Cinder: "This is good, tonight I get my revenge after what you did to me that night."
Ruby: "Why are you doing this?"
Cinder: "Why you ask? For the power to crush anyone who stands before me."
Ruby: "That is so wrong."
Cinder: "Don't you dare lecture me little girl. You wouldn't possibly know the things I've been through."
Ruby: "You're right, I don't know. But I do know that I will stop you no matter what."
With a cry of fury, Cinder creates a sword of glass and rushes at Ruby. Ruby parries her attack with Crescent Rose and is knocked back. Jaune jumps in front of Ruby to protect her while she's down, and Pyrra stands next to him to give him assistance.
Cinder: "You think you can take me this time girl? How is your ankle doing after all this time?"
Pyrra: "It doesn't matter if I think I can take you, I'm not alone this time."
Cinder: "Foolish girl, it doesn't matter how many friends you bring. In the end you will all die."
Topaz: "Not if I can help it. Ariel, go and back up Yang and Weiss. Jaune, you and Pyrra help out Ren and Nora against the big guy."
Pyrra: "What about you Topaz?"
Topaz: "Someone has to take care of Cinder here. No one hurts my family."
Cinder: "You again. Come to play hero again?"
Topaz: "Me, a hero? Nah, I'm here to fight someone responsible for harming my friends and family."
Cinder: "And you think you can take me?"
Topaz: "I was able to take you on months ago. Now, I believe I can fight you on even terms or better."
Cinder: "Damn you! DIE!"
Cinder creates a fireball and hurls it at Topaz while also creating a glass sword and charging at him. Topaz swipes the fireball out of the air with his spear, then raises his right arm to block Cinder's sword. The glass sword shatters against Topaz's arm catching Cinder off guard. Topaz punches Cinder in the face with his free hand, knocking her away. Before Topaz could get any more hits on her, the large man stands in front of him.
????: "You boy, I have no qualms with you, only with Ozpin. So, if you turn and walk away now I will let you live."
Topaz: "How about no. Cinder over there is responsible for too much pain for me to let it slide. Now either you stand aside yourself or prepare yourself to fight."
????: "I like your spirit kid. It's too bad you will die here."
Cinder: "Stand aside Hazel, he is mine!"
Hazel: "No, this fight is now mine. Do what we came here to do."
Topaz: "Oh no you don't."
Topaz lunges for Cinder who has turned away and is walking towards the strange statue underneath the staircase. Before he could get to her, the man named Hazel throws a punch towards his abdomen. Topaz blocks the punch but is sent a few feet away. Turning to face Hazel, Topaz levels his spear towards him and lunges at him. Topaz takes a swipe at Hazel to see what he would do, but watches in surprise as Hazel grabs the blade of his spear and holds it. Topaz yanks his spear back and blood flies out of his hand, but Hazel doesn't react.
Oscar: "Topaz be careful, his semblance nullifies all the pain he feels."
Topaz: "Great, it's just like fighting Nova."
Topaz watches as Hazel grabs two yellow dust crystals from his pockets and stabs them into his arms. Topaz watches as the energy from the crystals goes up his arms and into his shoulders. Hazel rushes towards Topaz and throws a punch his way. Topaz rolls back and transforms into an elephant. Topaz headbutts Hazel who is sent flying away. He lands roughly and rolls into a crouched position before taking out two red dust crystals and inserting them into his arms as well. With a roar, Hazel sends a large fireball towards Topaz, who goes back into his faunus form. Dodging the flame, Topaz once again rushes towards Hazel and slides beneath his legs. Once behind him, Topaz transforms into a lion and uses his claws to slash at Hazels right leg. Hazel takes the blow without moving and turns to face Topaz once again. Out of the corner of his eye, Topaz watches Ruby shoot Nora with a lightning dust infused bulled, giving her a massive boost in power. Nora launches herself at Hazel and slams her hammer into the side of his head, sending him flying through the large front doors.
Topaz: "Good hit Nora. How are things on your end."
Nora: "They're ok. Cinder and the two bandits disappeared down that large elevator thing before we could stop them. I think Ruby wants to send Yang in after them since one of the bandits is her mother."
Topaz: "Ok, with Hazel temporarily taken care of I'll give you guys a distraction so she can get through. Weiss… what are you looking at?"
Turning to the massive hole in the front of the building, Topaz sees Blake standing there with wide eyes and her ears flat against her head.
Yang: "Blake?"
Blake: "Um… hey guys."
Topaz: "Good to see you again Blake, take care of what you need to out there while we take care of things in here. See you in a little bit."
Blake: "Ok, see you guys soon."
Blake gives her teammates a nod before turning back to face whatever she was outside. Topaz turns towards Emerald and Mercury and sees Yang dodging attacks that aren't there. Realizing its Emerald's semblance again, Topaz makes his way between Yang and Emerald and gives motions for Yang to get ready. Topaz sees three Mercury's take shape in front of him, so he knows Emerald has her semblance focused on him. He quickly realizes that while he can see three Mercurys, only one of them holds his scent. Closing his eyes, Topaz blocks the kick aimed at his head from behind. Grabbing the foot, Topaz throws Mercury in the direction he smells Emerald at. Hearing a surprised cry, a loud thud, and then a couple cries of pain, Topaz opens his eyes to see Yang jump down the elevator shaft and Mercury and Emerald a mess of tangled limbs on the floor.
Ariel: "Topaz incoming six o'clock!"
At Ariels call Topaz rolls to his right, narrowly avoiding a heavy hit from Hazel. Hazel rounds on Topaz with pure fury in his eyes. Suddenly a loud chime could be heard over the air, and lights from a few aircrafts flying around the courtyard.
????: "Adam Taurus, this is the Mistral Police. We have you surrounded. Put your weapons down and surrender quietly."
Emerald: "You guys shouldn't look so cocky. Cinder will be right back, and when she does, you're in trouble. She'll show you all."
Topaz couldn't help but smile knowing that Blake was behind the Mistral Police arriving. Turning to face Hazel once more he sees Yang slowly rising alone on the elevator, holding a strange looking object that glowed blue. When everyone else sees her, Emerald, Mercury, and Hazel group together and look like they are ready to flee. Topaz watches as Emerald sinks to her knees, holding her head. She suddenly screams and a large black creature begins to rise from the ground. Taking the form of a large woman with white skin, and black veins all over her body, the woman suddenly screams out sending chills down Topaz's spine. When the illusion vanishes, the three villains are gone.
Topaz: "Let me guess Ozpin. That's Salem?"
Ozpin: "Yes, although she is truly the size of a normal person. The resemblance in everything else is uncanny."
Blake: "H-Hey guys. Everything ok here?"
