[Day 4, 2011 - 02:00:34]
{Amsar, Quba, Azerbaijan}
The SAS team groups up near the abandoned gas station. A Russian Loyalist flashes a signal to the team with his flashlight.
"There's Kamarov's man. Let's go."
They link up with the Loyalist.
The Loyalist speaks with a harsh accent "Al-Asad is in the village. The Ultranationalists are protecting him."
Nat grins "Perfect. Move out."
As they head up the hill, screams and gunshots can be heard from a distance.
"What the bloody hell's going on up there?" Gaz spoke up.
The Loyalist says calmly."It's the Ultranationalists. They're executing the villagers."
"Yeah well, not for long they're not."
They come up the hill and encounter the first groups of Ultranationalists. A shootout ensues. The team clears the first set of buildings in the village.
Soap sighed "Building clear. No sign of Al-Asad. Move on."
They continue pushing into the village.
"Mosin 2-5 here. We are ready to attack and are standing by for new orders."
Soap continues calling air support. The Ground Shaking each time, making Nat stumble.
"Mosin 2-5 here. We're on the way. Standby for air support. The helicopter is on the way. We'll handle it. Out. this is 2-5. We have the target. Standby."
The Havoc arrives and suppresses the targets.
Havoc Pilot "This is 2-5. We have to refuel and rearm. We will not be present for some time."
One by one, houses are cleared of enemy troops.
Nat's hoarse voice shouts over the gunfire "Building is clear. Move on to the next one. This building's clear! Let's check the other buildings! Building clear. No sign of Al-Asad. Move on. Building clear. Let's check the next one."
They push up the hill, eliminate the hostiles there, and reach a barn at the end of the village.Nat looks over to Price and the rest of the team.
Price turns to them "Remember, we want Al-Asad alive. He's no good to us dead. Let's go."
Nat reloads her AK-47 as Price tosses a flashbang in the barn, pulls out his M1911 pistol and kills two Ultranationalist soldiers. She sees Al-Asad there. She forces him into a chair and begins to torture and interrogate Al-Asad.
Nat rasps, punching Al-Asad "Why'd you do it? Where did you get the bomb?"
Al-Asad Tries to stay calm "I don't want to tell you!"
Price yells at Al-Asad "Who then?"
Al-Asad yells back at Price "I don't want to tell you!"
Nat shouts as she punches Al-Asad "Who?! Give me a name! A name! I want his name!"
Soap watches in shock seeing Al-Asad tied to a chair as Nat punches Al-Asad's ribs and punches him some more. A cell phone rings, and Nat stops, confused for a moment.Gaz picks up the cell phone from the ground.
Gaz looks at her "It's his cellphone."He tosses the cellphone to Nat, who listens to the voice on the phone, her facial expressions change to seemingly agitated. Al-Asad starts struggling on his bindings.
Al-Asad: No! No!
Nat hangs up and drops the phone, pulls out her pistol, and executes Khaled Al-Asad.
"Who was that?" Gaz asks.
"Zakhaev. Imran Zakhaev."She sneers.
A gunshot puts Nat in shock,
"DAD!" She shouts in horror, seeing Price get shot in the stomach.
Price faded in and out of consciousness.Gaz and Soap both support Price as Nat leads the way to a house, clearing a table.
"Put him here!" She pants, out of breath.
They nod, putting Price on the table.
"GET A FUCKING MEDIC!" She shouts at the team, completely out of breath "You're gonna be okay Dad."
Price slowly regains consciousness, Seeing Nat bandaging his torso. He groans from the pain, his breathing heavy. Nat Sees him awake, she had already removed the bullet.
"We need getting out of here Dad!" Her voice hoarse, helping him up, putting his arm around her shoulder so she can support him.Soap, Gaz and the Loyalists hold off the Ultranationalists.
Price fades out of consciousness again. He wakes up feeling the vibrating and thunder of the helicopter taking off.
Price groans and sits up, looking over to his daughter, who's leaning on Gaz with her eyes closed. Gaz holds a damp rag on her forehead. "Is she ok?" Price asks, being extremely concerned.
Gaz nods "She just has heat exhaustion, she'll be alright." He brushed Nat's hair off of her face, seeing how flushed her skin is. Nat opens her eyes, then closes them, feeling dizzy and nauseous, leaning on Gaz.
Soap sat next to Nat "Lt.Price?" He says, looking at her. Nat opens her eyes a bit "Yes?" She rasps, clearly exhausted. He sighs before saying "I just wanted to thank you for saving me a few days ago,I didn't have the chance to say it before."
"It's what I do for my mates" She says, closing her eyes again. Soap looks at Gaz,who gives him the she'll be alright nod.
[09:40:28. Eight hours after Al-Asad's death.]
An Ultranationalist says over a loudspeaker "Surrender at once and your lives will be spared! I am certain you will make right choice given the circumstances! (pause) Drop your weapons and surrender at once! You will be unharmed if you surrender!"
"Ignore that load of bollocks. Their counterattack is imminent. Spread out and cover the southern approach."Nat says. She had barely recovered from heat exhaustion.
"Ma'am, they're slowly coming up the hill. Just say when."A soldier says.
The Ultranationalist spoke on a loudspeaker again,"We know you are hiding in the village! You are surrounded! There is nowhere to run! Surrender and make it easy on yourselves!"
The team prones on the edge of a fenced cliff at the south end of the hill. Nat has her Ak-47 ready. The Ultranationalists are walking up the hill, unaware they've walked right into a trap.
"Do it." She smirks.
Gaz detonates phase line Alpha. The Ultranationalists quickly realize they've been duped and panic.
"Open fire!" Price yells
They begin opening fire as the Ultranationalists attack the hill after being caught by surprise by the ambush. Griggs fires the RPGs to hold them off for four rockets. After running out, Soap fires his M249 or his M21.
"Nice shot, mate. " Gaz says.
Captain Price spoke up "Squad, hold your ground, they think we're a larger force than we really are."
Gaz: Copy.
Wave after wave, they maintain their ground.
Smoke starts pouring in front of the hill.
Price shouts "They're putting up smokescreens. Nat, you see anything?"
"Not much movement on the road. They might be moving to our west."She replies.
Mortar fire suddenly lands on the hill. The ground trembles beneath them.
"They're targeting our position with mortars. It's time to fall back!"
"Right. Soap, get to the minigun and cover our western flank. Go." Nat says to him.
They fall back up the hill. Soap heads for the minigun in the downed helicopter.
"Three here. Two's in the far eastern building. We've got the eastern road locked down."
Soap mans the minigun and covers the west flank.
"Soap, keep the minigun spooled up. Fire in bursts." Nat instructs.
Soap holds back a wave of Ultranationalists with the minigun. Suddenly about five helicopters arrive to drop off enemy reinforcements.
"We've got a problem here...heads up!"
Captain Price shouts over the gunshots "Soap, fall back to the tavern and man the detonators. The rest of us will keep them busy from the next defensive line. Everyone move."
The team falls back to the next phase line.
"Soap! We're falling back to the next phase line. Let's go! Let's go! You're gonna get left behind! Soap! Use the detonators! There's four of them in the tavern! Move!"Nat spoke up.
Soap heads into the tavern and reaches the detonators. Soap detonates phase line Bravo and holds off a wave of enemies.
Mac spoke on the com, "We have enemy tanks approaching from the north. Bloody hell I'm hit! Arrgh -"
Nat yells over the loud gunshots and explosions "Mac's in trouble! Soap! Get to the barn at the northern end of the village and stop those tanks. Use the Javelin in the barn! Fall back to the farm at the top of the hill. Let's go. Now."
"Soap! The Javelin's in the barn! Move! Move!"
They fall back to the barn at the top of the hill in the north. Soap heads to the barn, grabs the Javelin, and takes out the four enemy tanks. As they continue to hold off hostiles, a flight of three AV-8 Harriers flies overhead.
"Bravo-Six, this is Falcon One standing by to provide close air support, over."
The team holds their ground at the barn.
"Bravo-Six, this is Gryphon Two-Seven. We've just crossed Azerbaijani airspace. E.T.A. is four minutes. Be ready for pickup."
As soon Gryphon Two-Seven tries to pick them up. They are incapable to because of the presence of many RPG wielders and to make matters worse, SAM sites threatening to shoot them down.
"Bravo-Six, the LZ is too hot! We cannot land at the farm! I repeat, we CANNOT land at the farm! We're picking up SAM sites all over these mountains!"
"Oh, that's just great! Now where are they gonna land now?" Nat says sarcastically.
"Bravo-Six, we're getting a lot of enemy radar signatures, we'll try to land closer to the bottom of the hill to avoid a lock-on."
"Is he takin' the piss? We just busted our arses to get to this LZ and now they want us to go all the way back down?!" Gaz groans
Price yells at all of them "Forget it, Gaz! We've got to get to the new LZ at the bottom of the hill! Now! Soap! Take point! Go!"
They begin to push towards the bottom of the hill.
"Bravo-Six, be advised, we're gonna come in low from the south across the river. Recommend you haul ass to LZ Foxtrot at the base of the hill. Out."
Price responds "Copy, Two-Seven. Everyone - head for the landing zone! It's our last chance! Move!"
"We're gonna get left behind! We've got to get to the landing zone!"Gaz says.
Two minutes left on the clock.
Nat screams "Let's go! Let's go! Get down the hill!"
90 seconds left.
"Ninety seconds to dustoff."
One minute left.
"One minute to bingo fuel."
Price shouts at the team "Get to the bottom of the hill! Move move!"
30 seconds left.
"Get to the LZ! Go! Go!" Nat yells, her voice all hoarse by now.
The team ultimately reaches the chopper. The helicopter is moving into position to pick them up, the back opens, and once it touches down, Staff Sergeant Griggs and his Marine squad emerge to lay down cover fire for the S.A.S. team. "Heard you guys need a ride outta here. Get on board! Move! Move! Let's go! Let's go!"
The S.A.S. team boards the helicopter. Once they are on board, Griggs and his Marines fall back into the helicopter as well.
"Ok, we're outta here. Basplate, this is Gryphon Two-Seven. We got 'em and we're coming home. Out."
