"One second." I say.
I lean over and start to roll up the pants leg. Alex moves next to me and starts on the left one. "What made you work here?" I ask.
He stops moving for a second. "My father. He wanted me to be in his line of sight at all times so he forced me here."
"That's awful." I mutter.
"I got used to it." He shrugs helplessly. "There you go my lady."
I look over at his work and gawk at it. "How in the world did you make it that nice?"
He laughs. "I have many great abilities and you have only seen two."
I straighten myself as I say, "How many do you have?"
"Five." He tells me boldly.
"I just have to see the other three." I tease.
He glares at me. "My father only has ten."
"Five more than you do. Who would have thought."
"Can you stop with the teasing?" He demands.
I smile at him. "Did I hurt your feelings?"
My smile grows when he doesn't answer. "Awe, don't be sad about it. You'll get used to it."
"Hello there." Someone says.
It was blonde. Alex moves until he was blocking me. I peer around him to see her moving in on him. "We have been looking for you, ssson of Lucifer."
"Who brought you here?" Alexander demands.
"Amenadiel has sssummoned you to talk to him. Central Park. Bring the girl if you wisssh." She purrs. "Bessst not refussse."
She then turns and walks away. I set a hand on his back as he moved closer to me. "Alexander, is everything alright?"
He turns and looks at me. "Yes. I'll let you come along if you want."
"That's really kind of you. I would love to." I smile up at him.
He returns it before leading the way down the hall.
Alex stops the car and gets out. He moves around it and opens the door before I could. "Thank you." I stamper.
"Of course."
We head to the heart of Central Park and soon I could see the figure of someone. "Stay behind me."
I slow my pace, not keeping my eyes off the guy. "Alexander Morningstar. Wonderful to see you again. Who is this?"
"Madison Fox." He replies sharply. "She knows."
"Well, then. I shall get right to the point. I need you to bring your father back to Hell. Drive this into his neck and he shall stay in Hell for about three centuries."
Amenadiels hands were quick and I couldn't see what the thing was. "It is time your father returned to his throne."
"I shall do my best Amenadiel."
"Madison Fox, come here. Alexander leave us in peace. I shall make sure no harm comes to her."
His body stiffens but he nods. I watch as he leaves before I look back at Amenadiel. "You have a great future ahead of you. Make sure to keep Alexander out of trouble. His father is a dangerous and cruel man. I wish no harm to come to him."
"I already have been." I tell him.
He smiles at me. "I am only going to tell you this because I know Alexander won't. If any angel finds someone that they love dearly, they become their weakness. It is not the same for when an angel loves another angel. Just with an angel and a human. Trend carefully my dear."
"I will. I promise."
"I can sense Alexander's restlessness. I best get you back to him."
Amenadiel leads the way back to the car, a firm hand on my back. Alex was standing by the car, arms crossed. I look behind me to find Amenadiel gone. "We best hurry back."
I was just getting into the car when there was a tick. "Madison get out!"
Before I could move away fast enough, the car exploded.
My eyes snap open and I sit up quickly. I look around the room I was in. Definitely not a hospital. I push away the blankets to take in what I was wearing. A big baggy shirt. I thank God that I still had my underwear. The door opens and Alexander walks in. He was holding a tray with one arm. Whatever was on it smelled amazing. "How are you feeling?" He asks.
"Better." My voice comes out dry and scratchy.
Alex sets the tray on my lap before sitting down next to me on the bed. I grab the glass of water and chug it down. Alex watches me, a smile on his face. "Why am I not in the hospital?" I ask.
"Because I knew I could heal you."
"Is that another great ability of yours?" I ask.
"It is." He gives me a cheeky smile. "You move a lot in your sleep. Was pretty hard to do my healy magic on you."
I glare at him before I start to eat the breakfast he brought me. "Did you make this or one of your servants?"
"It's just me here." He replies. "Why do you ask?"
"Just wondering." I mutter before adding, "It's really good."
"Glad it pleases you."
As we make our way to his office, Alexander wouldn't stop looking at me. "I'm fine." I tell him, meeting his gaze.
"The healing process is going to take awhile." He says, ignoring me. "I want you to stay at my house until you're better."
I go to say something but I stop. "Alright."
He was going to force me anyway so there was no use arguing. Alex opens the door for me and I go straight for my desk. I sit down heavily in the chair and sigh. A knock flutters on the door and I break into a smile. "Eric! I thought you weren't coming back until December."
I struggle to get up and he closed the distance in a few strides. "I'm just passing through the city." He says. "I have business to do here with Zane Woods."
I hug him tightly as I say, "Shouldn't you get going then?"
"Yeah. Want to talk after you're done with work?" Eric asks, breaking the hug.
"Of course."
He turns and leaves. Glancing at Alexander just before the door closed. My legs buckle and I let out a startled cry. My knees scrape against the floor as I collapse. Alex jumps over his desk and rushes over to me. He picks me up and goes into the bathroom. He sets me down on the counter before trailing his fingers along my legs. Golden light pools out of his finger tips. As quickly as the pain came, it was gone. "Thank you." I mutter.
"How high can you lift your leg up?" Alex asks.
I wince as I move it up and my leg grazes against his upper arm. I let it drop and hit the counter. "Next one."
I do so and look up at him as I finish. "Keep working your legs throughout the day." He instructs.
He helps me off the counter and his hands linger on my waist. "Hey, we never had that date." I say.
Alexander looks down at me and a smile forms on his lips. "We can go tonight if you wish."
I set my hands on his and smile. "Perfect."
We were eating in silence after our big conversation about ourselves, when Alex looks up at me. "I wanted to ask you about that Eric guy."
I chew my food a little slower before I swallow it. "Adam Berendanawicz has been my friend since third grade. Along with Katie but she's halfway across the world right now. Why are you asking?"
"Just curious." He mutters.
"Afraid someone is going to take me away from you?" I tease.
He looks away before meeting my eyes. "Yes."
I feel my face heat up and I look down at my food. I hear Alex chuckle. "I don't know if people ask this but Madison. Would you be willing to be my girlfriend."
I let out strangled oh and fiddle with the table cloth. I chew on my lip before daring to meet his eyes. "Y-yeah." I stamper.
His smile grows until I see dimples. "Perfect."
