Dear Readers
It's this humble author's honour to announce the end of my hiatus has finally come. Regular updates will resume shortly and I feel energised once again after considering many, many things.
Once again I must ask you all to comment and vote as both go a long way to make me a better author, make this a better novel and motivate my work ethic to further heights.
Questions are encouraged. Reviews no matter how blunt, short or inquisitive are seen and taken into account. Comments are desired and engagement of any kind is sincerely appreciated.
When you feel like I am slacking get at me on my social media. When you are hungry and thirsting for more chapters, blow up my phone with messages and notifications.
I am also aware that there seems to be a lot of words and too few actions. I would like my readers to note that I am planning to take this novel far.
I am trying to cover plot holes now so that I do not have a situation suddenly happen to our protagonist out of the blue just to make the plot and story advance.
Valerian is not perfect but please do not expect him to be an idiot as well so that he can get into some played out story lines found in other novels.
That said, I am a fan of some cliches myself so I will not omit the odd run in the mill trope here and there.
In addition to this, yes Valerian is overpowered but fists do not solve every problem, there are social, political and economic factors that cannot always be solved by "Kill it.", "a food from Japan", "Use the holy sword." and "We have faith in you."
If you want "Through the power of friendship" this novel is also not for you. There are subplots but our main protagonist is neither a simp(leton) nor a being blessed with superb plot armour...*cough*...I meant blessed with superb luck.
No Macguffins. No overpowered airheads who do not serve any purpose other than to look pretty and get the protagonist into a situation that everyone congratulates him/her for overcoming but becomes overall irrelevant to the story. Slice of life chapters? Definitely. Slice of life volumes? Not in my work.
I may fall victim to sentimentality as an avid reader myself and decide to put in a few chapters to distract us once in a while but that is it. Happenstance is different from lazy writing.
I have said my piece. I hope you enjoy and if you are still with me when I finish laying the foundation for this novel, I am thanking you in advance.
