Chereads / Awaken Demon Lord Valerian / Chapter 31 - I Am Here

Chapter 31 - I Am Here

"What the hell happend?" the King of Saras asked. "There are reports of a huge hole in sky and monsters that flew out. There were sightings of beings who looked like gods and a red dome that appeared! This are the reports of shepherds and villagers! Do we have anything more...intelligent?!" the king roared.

The throne room was eerily quiet. No one knew what happened. The church representatives had refused to answer any questions and the Holy Arithean Empire was in a state of panic.

The leader of the nation, the Pope had been attending a service in honour of those who lost their lives during the bloodbath created by the followers of Loki when she was suddenly began to visibly age a hundred years in front of the congregation. She was half high elf. They had great vitality but even a hundred years to them was nothing to laugh at.

Many took this as a bad omen. Some thought the Pope had greatly sinned. Others took this to be a precursor to the end of the world. The majority consensus was that something bad was happening in the Realm of the Divine.

Perhaps an irreparable arguement between the divine had started and lines were being drawn.

This was the worst case scenario for the noble scholars who snubbed the doomsday theorists.

A fight between the gods was fought, not in the heavens, but down on material plane.

A holy war was a calamity that devastated generations but also meant great blessings from the gods once it was over.

The religious fanatics in every country were preparing for war should the patron god they served called on them.

Two kings and two Queens were holding a conference without leaving their thrones and kingdoms by using magical tools.

"I swear Eric, when the event happened I felt three times stronger." one of the queens stated.

"I agree with Hildi. My blood magic also went beyond its capabilities during the event. I blew up an entire tower during my morning training. I was lucky to be alone and survive the ordeal. I was only doing the basics! There are reports around my kingdom of much more extreme cases."

"Yes, Olivia, something definitely triggered a spike in our abilites. I must ask...did any of you feel something else?" King Eric asked.

There was a momentary silence between them before the other king asked. "What do you mean by something else, Eric?"

"This may sound weird, Rapha, but did any of you feel like you were...I am not sure how to explain it without sounding insane but as if you were connected to something...no...someone greater? Like you were bathed in light?"

King Eric let out a sigh realising how stupid he sounded.

"You are right! I feared that I was the only one. I wanted to blame my imagination but I could not shake the feeling." Hildi admitted.

"I also feared not being in my right senses. I wanted to blame the explosion I caused having triggered some sort of damage to my mind but you are right. It did feel like we were connected to someone greater. It was like we were links in a chain." the other queen, Olivia, added contemplatively.

"The direction?" King Eric asked. If what they said was true and they felt what he felt then they would know what he meant by this question.

"""The Saras Kingdom.""" the other three monarchs stated in sync and gasped.

"So then something did happen to all of us and the one behind it is the Kingdom of Saras?" King Rapha asked.

"Saras is not hostile or friendly to vampires. It does not make sense that they would want to boost our power." A queen stated.

"Perhaps a new artefact from Ancient times." Eric offered.

"It would not explain the living entity we felt. I cannot explain it but I know that it was not some tool from the past." the queen Olivia said.

"Shall we send emissaries to Saras?" The other king asked.

"I am told that the Family Head of House Windsor is making his way there. He will not disclose his reasons for going but I could perhaps ask him to check on it." Eric stated.

"""You are a fool.""" the other monarchs were in sync again.

"Uh...what do you mean?" Eric asked.

"He obviously felt the connection more strongly than we did. House Winsdor is one of the oldest vampire families with one of the purest bloodlines. He should know more than we do and that is why he plans to go there." Rapha said in frustration.

"No, the trip was planned before the event occurred. Even he seemed shocked but his eyes did seem to be deep in thought as if he knew something. I do not have the power to interrogate him. I will welcome any of you to try though." Eric countered.

"""We are not that stupid.""" the other three monarchs synced again.

Valerian had locked the Primordial gods in prison dimesion of his own creation. It was a temporary world that was made in haste but would last long enough to contain the fools till he had need for them.

He appeared in a different realm full of light and radiance. The mana that flowed here was pure and the air clean. It was like the world before Valerian went to sleep.

The vampire, however, did noot get the chance to enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere.

In front of him was a tweny foot crystal that was black and cracked with golden chains tightly wrapped around it. A large lock with a diamond gem held the chains together.

Anger rose from deep within the vampire. "How could they do this to you?!"

The crystal faintly glowed in response to Valerian's question.

"I am glad you are still alive but your presence is so weak." He sighed.

He could fix this but the recoil and danger invovled would not be small. Breaking the chains would be easy but the damage they had caused was like a slow cancer.

If it had been discovered earlier, it would have been easy to eradicate but now that the cancer had spread, there was great risk involved.

"Do not worry. Stay strong. I will reignite you. I am here."
