Agara's deadlands
Inside the chilly nest of a dreadfully small but resistant creature. Several eggs were spread out with a patch.
The eggs were glowing ever so gently in silence as they were preparing to face this new world. They were born cockroaches yet they wouldn't die without grazing this dead land once considering their resilience.
During this process, one little dirty egg was almost bubbling from the shaking.
' Curse you, I would have preferred the god damned grim reaper to you. Aarrgh!!! Okay, okay enough cursing, Relax Penta, we've been through some shit before. We just happened to be in an egg.'
The further he thought of his predicament as he saw where he landed once the erasing power from Nite disappeared. Penta couldn't help but violently curse. 'Douche bag in the sky' Penta thought of the voice he heard condemning him.
'Okay focus, seems to be eggs from the feeling of life I get around me. I'm way too powerful even after that journey for this life form... I feel the death of my egg. Shit, who said dying was peaceful? Fckers.'
Penta couldn't help but believe again that he was on the clock as his soul's extinction was looming over him.
He tried various things and commands. Nothing worked until he finally just tried real hard to absorb some vitality.
'If there's life and I'm incubating, I should be able to steal some life, my soul is a lot stronger than a fucking bug.'
Penta frustratingly tried to steal life somehow. He was convinced his human soul was strong enough in front of a bug.
However, the soul itself wasn't enough right now for him as he was clueless about how to make a steal life type move.
'Arghh, screw it. I should be able to manipulate this eggshell to provide me a way!' Penta thought.
In between extreme focus and a cracking eggshell. Penta focused on forcing his souls power to create a branching membrane from the egg's veins. It resembled a tree's root growth.
It was surprisingly a genius idea as it gave his soul a way to reach out to the eggs touched by his root.
This followed with wild absorption of his brothers and sisters in this life among this land.
The purple and white glow on the cracked shell was growing stronger. The cracks mended as the egg started to regrow the missing shell used to connect to the others.
The fueling of his hurt soul was bizarre.
' It feels like eating... but better. I'm sorry little brothers and sisters. I will avenge you through the death of a wannabe god.'
Penta felt bad but considering their brother would kill such a great being for their measly energy, he figured they could do him this favor.
Penta was slowly absorbing the vitality from the others as he somewhat maintained his growth through the sheer number of eggs there was. A cockroach apocalypse was really not hard to produce considering their reproduction.
'If I simply altered their health expectancy during this egg phase. I would have an army. Though a little on the uglier side. Maybe if I got them to turn red and black, with better speed and strength. Shit! I let my control slip...'
A piece of regrowing shell cracked. Penta was starting to lose his focus on the various connections to his siblings. This type of ability was very new to him and was born out of desperation. Dying was something he didn't want to go through again considering what happened the first time he died.
"This is going to take a while..." Penta thought as he vaguely remembered a certain girl.
'Claire huh, didn't think I'd remember you from the 11th grade but you do seem useful now.'
..
"Claire! Shut the fuck up about cockroaches! I don't like them as much as you do yet why are you the only one worried about our doom by cockroaches!" Penta yelled at a freckle-faced girl with some chubby cheeks and glasses, a special face on a skinny girl.
"Penta! I can't believe this. You have to be prepared, know thy enemy, know thy self!" Claire yelled back in the empty hallway to the science class.
...
'If I remember correctly it's first an egg, then a nymph and finally a cockroach or something like that... memories in soul form really are easy access. tch, bastard still got some of my memories though. Just wait.'
The memories allowed him some recollections of her nutsy information on cockroaches. She was a school friend who had a huge dislike for cockroaches but to an unhealthy degree. She was similar to a general to be before an impending war.
'sigh, crazy girl but at least I still had the memory of when she told me their life expectancy. About 2 weeks for the egg and few months for the nymph before finally being a cockroach til death within a year maybe two.'
"WHY THE FUCK AM I ON THE CLOCK!?" Penta lost his marbles again at the rush he was in since death.
He was swept in a bad mood for bare moments before focusing on absorbing his sibling's energy. He needed to be born first before he could face these continuously impending crises.
The egg period was really the most useful after a few hours of thinking. This realization dawned upon Penta when he thought of how infancy was totally uncontrollable.
'I could try and see if any modifications could be made in this form. After all, aren't I still a powerful soul with access to a certain supply of materials... sorry brothers and sisters.'
Penta prayed for them as he started testing how he could play with himself before birth.
"In a good way." He mumbled.
The cockroach had a resilient shell while remaining flexible and quick. It was a must considering they're extremely fast even after one day out of the egg.
' I should focus on speed, defense, and finally flexibility. This should at least help me start my journey here.'
This was the final planning he needed before focusing solely on this. Considering his options and especially his revenge. Penta was unable to accept dying after being reborn as a cockroach. He was set on getting back at his enemy.
The following two weeks were spent exactly on that revenge through cockroach.
It bothered him at first considering the new body and also the ominous feeling above his head in the cave.
However, his parents never came around as far as his perception showed which was the surrounding nest for the siblings.
'Must not be needed since they never showed.' Penta mused.
After extensive testing, Penta had grasped that the nutrients being sent his way would go towards his baby forms an outer shell, some towards his legs and finally the rest towards the internals and main body for flexibility.
There was no real soul force healing his injured soul but some small specks were felt as he somehow noticed they were the remnants of his sibling's spirits.
"Little brothers and little sisters, big brother will take you with me" The guilt was somehow real considering his egg body still resonated with the others but this may have been intelligent design against cannibalism but Penta soon gave up such thoughts and continued his final push before cracking out of the egg as he was slowly feeling his soul getting submerged within the physical body that only two weeks ago couldn't sustain his soul.
The day finally arrived after an arduous wait.
No one is instinctually evil. Instincts dictate to survive.
In an Agaran cockroach nest, a single sound could be heard as the quiet hollows of the underground resonated.
A large egg was pulsing with a powerful rhythm. On its shell was a pure glow with incredibly numerous fine lines of purple. The purple radiance gave off a royal feeling.
"It's finally time to hit the pedal." Penta breathed out mentally as he let out the maximum force his tiny roach legs could afford.
"Crrre" A small crack formed on the outer layer.
The gelatinous juices within the incubating egg were fully dry. The roach was able to get motion to work without feeling like drowning in water.
A few more powerful taps and the entire egg broke away from weakness. The glow was simply an effect of the vibrant life force within it.
Out came the final product. That which took the lives of 345 of its siblings.
Within moments of first real breath in the world, Penta felt a slight throb and a memory "Agaran Emperor Roach"
' Am I being fucking named!?" Penta revolted.
