Chapter 2 - Epilogue

The king and queen of Aleria walked into the garden holding their young daughter Princess Ayaannah who was learning the names of particular flowers. They watched as the young princess stared in amazement at every single flower when a thorn pricked her finger and she screamed watching the blood oozing from her hand . The king seeing this knelt and picked his daughter up and stared at her hazel eyes that sparkled with unshed tears. "My dear child don't cry look how beautiful you are, can I tell you a secret?" he asked. Curious, the girl nodded as she wondered what secret she would be told. By seeing her enthusiasm he chuckled softly and smiled at her. He wanted to tell her words that would guide her throughout her life but he knew her young mind wouldn't understand so he summed it up to one sentence and he said, "A princess doesn't cry." She nodded her little head in understanding as she asked to be put down. She ran into her mother's arms who stood there and stared at her daughter as tears streamed down her cheeks knowing the lurking danger that would befall their realm but she had to save her daughter she was the future of the realm. "Mummy why are you crying daddy said a princess doesn't cry," little Ayaannah said. The queen smiled at the four-year-old daughter who was smart for her age. "You see darling I'm not a princess I am a queen," she explained. The little girl furrowed her eyebrows as if she were in deep thought then she finally nodded her head. She jumped out of her mother's arms and ran out of the garden as her parents called after her but she squealed, "I can't wait to be queen so I can cry ."Her parents burst into fits of laughter as they watched their daughter who they would be seeing for the last time. Just above the ground stood the archangel watching his son and his wife who looked at their daughter. The princess was truly a blessing she was an immortal goddess who knew nothing of her true origin but as she grew up her powers would be discovered which would place her in imminent danger. The girl was pricked by a thorn but none of them had realis ed the girl had already healed. The girl had a fast healing rate like the goddess Laso who blessed her as an infant. The archangel had no way to save the realm from the impending doom but only to save the princess and bring her up until she found her beloved. The archangel flapped his white wings as he landed before his son. "Lucas," he said. The king who had shown no weakness for the hundreds of years he had been alive for the first time in decades shed tears as he embraced his father. The archangel smiled at his son and hugged him this time not telling him to be strong like he always did before. Even the queen who was known for her strength as a daughter to the moon goddess could not rescue the realm from destruction only the princess could. But judging by her age she could not control her wonderful abilities. The trio talked as the parents entrusted the heir to the realm and queen of the seven realms their four-year-old daughter to her grandfather who was a serious man. "Grandpa!" she screamed. Princess Ayaannah ran quickly into the legs of her grandfather. The archangel just gave her a straight face but the little princess said," Grandpa why are you always grumpy like the troll at the castle. "Her parents snickered as they watched the exchange between the two knowing their daughter would bring happiness to the archangel who was void of emotions after he lost his wife but the young girl would provide him with good company and shower him with unconditional love.
