Rojen's POV
The room looked so neat and clean. I can't believe it. It was messy when I left the room but now, It was so clean. everything is organized except for the box that is on the floor. Maybe that's the sound that I heard.
"Fiona?" I called her name. She's not in the room.
I heard the door of the comfort room opened and Fiona came out of it. She looked like she was just finished taking a bath.
"I'm sorry. I took a bath." she said.
"And you didn't even lock the door?" I asked sarcastically.
"I usually didn't lock the door. No one will come here inside of my room." she said while drying her hair.
"We never know." I replied.
She just kept silent so I took of my shoes and entered her room.
"How are you?" I suddenly asked.
"I... I'm still not okay. But I have too. I have to fight to survive." she said.
She really is a strong and brave woman.
"I'm proud." I whispered.
"You're what?" She asked while looking at me. I can sense the curiosity out of her.
"I said I'm proud of you."
She sat still and continued drying her hair. She can't look at me now which made my smile. I think she felt shy because of what I said.
"You're such a strong and brave woman. Even though you experienced a worse pain, you still choose to stand up and fight." I continued.
"That's the only choice I had, Roj. To fight. If I'm not gonna fight for myself then I may be useless." she answered.
I think she is okay now. I can see it because she looks fine, she also cleaned and organized the room but the thing that is I'm not sure if she's in favor of my idea.
"Fion." I called her.
"Mmm?"
Maybe I should try flowering of words just in case she'll agree.
"You know what, I heard you the last time humming a song while we are cleaning your room. I think it's kind of familiar. What song is it?" I asked.
I'm nervous because I don't know how to continue this.
"Oh, that? That song entitled 'Happy Together'. That is one of my favorite song that I always sing together with grandma before." she replied while looking at me.
I saw a slight pain and sadness in her eyes but I know that she was trying to hide and just forget it.
"Right. I just find your voice fascinating and it was great hearing you humming that song. It was a great music to my ears." I said, trying to change the mood.
She looked at me with a "what did you just said' kind of expression which made me laugh a little bit.
"I am just stating a fact. I swear. I like hearing you humming but it would be great if I heard you sing." I said.
"Honestly, I was singing before, when I was a kid. It was my father and my grandma who thought me how to sing so beautifully and they even hired a vocal coach to train me." she replied, reminiscing the memories from the past.
I saw again a faint smile on her face.
"Did they brought you to a singing contest before?" I asked.
"Yeah. Like how many times. Sometimes I won but sometimes I don't. But that made me realize that in life, not all the time you are the winner. You should experience being a loser to appreciate your trophy if you became the winner again." she replied.
What she said is true. It was just like you had to experience being a failure first to appreciate your success in future. It's part of the process of life.
"I missed them already." she said out of nowhere.
"Hey. Don't be like that again. You just got yourself out of your cave then you're gonna head their again. Then I am gonna be alone again." I said, trying to be sad to see her reaction.
"I just said I missed them but that doesn't mean I'm gonna do a breakdown again." she replied like she was about to laugh but trying to stop herself.
"Now, Fion, does it ever cross your mind to join singing contest again?" I asked, changing the topic.
"No. Actually, somehow it made me think, 'what if I'm gonna join again?' but it was already a long time since I was singing. My voice has gone mature and I didn't practice vocalization so I am not sure about it." she answered.
She stood up and took a sit on her bed. I alsl did the same thing. I brought a chair in front of her to continue talking. I must do all I can to persuade her.
"How about you try again. There is nothing wrong with trying." I said, starting a move to persuade her
"But I am scared. Like what I told you, I haven't practice my voice for a long time so maybe while singing, my voice might crack in front of many people. It's embarassing and they might wvwn laugh at me." she said. I saw how anxious she is based on her expression.
"Then what if we try doing karaoke. I heard that is also a good help to practice your voice." I suggested.
"Then?"
"If you have already practiced then let's try joining a contest." I replied.
"Mmm. That a... Wait." she sigh. "I think I get it." she said then looked at me with a strange expression.
"Get what?" I asked nervously.
"So you asked me about singing all this time and wanted me to join you singing in karaoke?" she asked.
"Yes."
"And then after that if I had practiced my voice already then you wanted me to join singing contest, right?"
"Yes. Super right."
"Mmm..." she hit my head that made me winced because of the pain.
"Ouch. That hurts." I complaint.
"You deserved that." She replied with a smirk on her face.
"I was just trying to persuade you to join. And also, I know that you knpw once you joined the contest then there is a prize. We never know maybe you might win." I said, trying to persuade her more.
"And what if I didn't win?" she asked, one of her eyebrow raised.
"Then atleast we can get consulation prize. But for sure you'll win, because you had the most beautiful voice that I ever heard." I said then winked on her.
I saw that she was thinking.
Only if I had my powers then I can use telepathy to read what she thinks. Lucky her that I didn't have it now.
"Then..."
"Then what?" I asked nervously.
"Then... When is the contest?"
Great!!!
