Chapter 7 - Six

Jasper's POV

I watched her from my place behind the shrub.

Of course I knew it was absolutely wrong to spy on a young Lady, but she was soo enchanting.

I had of course been going on a night ride, when I suddenly found myself steering towards here.

And then I saw her standing regally on her balcony and looking every bit a goddess that she was.

I just had to watch. Of course I knew I should go, but watching her was like watching the stars to me –I couldn't get tired of it.

Then, I got sliced in the face by something sharp.

I gasped and tried to stay very quiet as I ran my fingers across the slash.

It wasn't deep but looked like it would leave a scar. I winced and tried to stop the blood flow.

Suddenly I was poked in the face by a sharp twig.

"Blast!!" It left my lips before I realized I would be found.

"Who are you and what are you doing spying on me?" her smooth voice rang out.

I took deep breadths before answering. "My apologies dear Lady, I promise you this is quiet an accident and I do not usually spy on poor maidens."

I held my breadth and waited for what she would say.

"Step out."

It was a command. A part of me wanted to stay hidden and watch her, but another part –a huger part of me wanted to be close to her, to breath her scent in.

So, I stepped out.

She was looking down while I looked up at her.

She looked even more breathtaking closer.

Her hair was left to flow in waves like the sea behind her and over her shoulders and breasts.

Her nightdress was silk pale blue and almost transparent.

I swallowed and tried not to gaze at her creamy breasts.

She was similarly studying me, and I realized I looked like a rat compared to her. My boots were caked with mud and my dark curls were probably wild from the wind and shrub.

I subtly ran my fingers through it in hopes of making it more presentable.

Finally she spoke. "Who are you?"

I thought about it. I couldn't say I was the prince, she probably wouldn't believe me because of my appearance.

"I am Kiaran." For Kiaran was my third name.

She raised a brow. "You aren't an important person in the society?"

I nodded. "Just a mere peasant."

She examined me again. "Well what are you spying on me for?"

I shrugged and grinned. "You are a really –interesting person."

Her gaze turned cold. "Am I now?"

Then she turned and almost walked away.

My eyes widened. "Wait–"

"Get out."

I frowned. "I am so sorry for spying on you tonight–"

She appeared again and gave me a pointed look. "–and when I trained."

I sheepishly scratched the back of my neck. "Oh –that was a coincidence too."

She glared at me. "Stay away from me Kiaran."

Then she turned and closed the balcony doors behind her.

Aurora's POV

Kiaran...

The name sounded exotic and I hated to admit how I liked it.

How would he spy on me? did they know who I was? was he a spy?

There was a knock on the door and Daisy stepped in. On her hand was a silver platter.

"Miss, a letter arrived for you."

I frowned. "This early?" I had just finished my training.

She nodded and stretched the platter towards me.

I picked the pink letter and sharp letter opener.

The letter strongly smelt of roses and Lavender. The writing was cursive and neat.

"You are theryby honourable invited to tea with Lady Isabell and I this afternoon. The theme is Pink.

Lady Hera"

I placed it back on the platter.

"Get breakfast ready early and tell Laura to run on to the town stables and rent me a strong horse and carriage."

Daisy nodded and slipped out.

I stepped into my bath water and settled down. A tea party as I expected, only it was sooner than I thought.

A smile drapped my lips. These people made my work easier. They were basically inviting the enemy into their home.

And pink??

Ok.

Hera's POV.

Isabell sat across me. She fanned herself and sighed. "She is dreadfully late."

I frowned and smoothened out the wrinkles in my dress. "Well, now we know she is an irresponsible wretch."

Isabell pouted and her cheeks turned red. "I do hate Tardiness –"

She was interrupted by the buttler.

"Lady Aurora is arriving my lady."

I jumped up and Isabell stepped next to me. "Let us watch her, she is probally flirting with the stable boy."

That made Isabell giggle.

We made our ways outside and stood in front of the manor as our guest rode in.

The horse was surprisingly a clean white and the carriage was splendid. The carriage was exquisite. I hated her the more.

The carriage stopped right in front of us and and the coach man pulled the door open.

My mouth widened when she stepped out. Her dress was –I hate to admit it, Beautiful.....

It hugged her torso and then puffed around her waist to the ground. It honestly resembled a water fountain. Her shoulders were bear and the bodie of the gown started from her breasts. A silk transparent shawl rested on her exposed shoulders.

Her hair was in a bun.

Her dress was Pink.

I was impressed as I honestly thought she wouldn't wear pink.

She curtesied. "Good day Lady Hera, Isabell."

I and Isabell curtesied then took each of her arm in ours. We led her through the corridors and into the drawing room.

Isabell turned to the butler. "Get us tea from the kitchen."

He walked off and we sat.

Aurora smiled at us. "It was such a surprise receiving such an invitation from such important persons as yourselves when I just resumed here."

I gave her a smile. "Well I believe it was."

Isabell laughed lightly. "You are very welcome–"

"Of course you know we do not just invite anybody for tea...." I trailed off.

Aurora nodded earnestly. "Yes."

I fanned myself as I continued. "As esteemed people, we need to be careful with whom we relate."

She nodded.

The maids walked in with trays of tea, biscuits, cakes, bread, butter and jam.

They poured tea into our cups and handed them over.

Isabell immediately siped from her cup while I started buttering a biscuit.

"So, I enjoyed your ball... although the wine was too new, I prefer old wine."

Isabell nodded and set her cup down. "Yes, and the color was too bright....."

"And the–"
