Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

"Memories can be hard to forget so let us always choose to make good ones." -yours truly

...

Jackson Drake

With just a blink of an eye, her eyes darkened as her hands trembled in anger. A look of bitterness swept across her face as she fisted her hands. She exhaled heavily and then she glared at me as if she wants to kill me.

She is not taking her eyes off of me and it is quite troubling. If only stare could kill a person- I bet, I would be dead by now.

I am getting a bit uncomfortable with her stare so I looked away to break our eye contact but even though I already looked away, I can still feel her glaring at me and it made me more uncomfortable.

"What?!" I snapped at her and then she rolled her eyes at me.

How could she roll her eyes at me?! Am I not attractive enough for her?!

Women bat their eyelashes at me and they do not take their eyes off of me that easily. It is just that I do not give a damn. Well, I can't blame them, blame it to my charisma.

"Don't you have anything else to do in life other than to make people suffer?!" She questioned angrily.

"Well, you made me-" She cut me off.

She is so infuriating! Women out there would trade everything just to hear my reply and then here she is, having the nerve to cut me off.

"I honestly don't care about the things that you do or would like to do. I also don't care if you don't have anything else to do in your goddamn life!" She growled.

"Do whatever you want to do! Just don't involve me with your bullshits!" She added.

"Hey! You involved yourself on this. Have you forgotten about it?!" I questioned as I raised an eyebrow at her.

"No, it's the other way around! You were the one who involved me on this! If only you controlled your temper that day, then none of these things would happen!" She yelled.

How could she yell at me and at the same time blame all of these things to me?! I admit, her words are aggravating. No one dared to talk back at me, especially in that tone. I feel like a five-year-old kid being scolded by my mom and it does not feel right. I should be the one using that tone and not her!

"No! You were the one who started this in the first place so why are you blaming it all to me?!" I retorted.

"Look, we're sorry for staying on your goddamn table, forgive us. Don't worry, we'll never show our faces to you ever again. Just let this one go, Drake. Let's just forget everything and pretend like none of these things happened. Let's- let's just stay out of each other's life." She stated in more of like an insulting tone.

"Do you really think that it's just that easy?!" I hurled as I looked at her with piercing eyes.

"It is! You just have to forgive!" She uttered, emphasizing each words.

"Well, I don't want to!" I shouted.

"Then that is your problem! It doesn't concern me anymore!" She spoke out.

"Shut up!" I growled at her.

"Can't we- can't we just stay out of each other's life? Do your business and I'll do mine. Let's pretend that none of these things had happened. It will work. Trust me, Drake. I'll never bother you again after this." She stated as if it is so easy to forget everything.

"I want to see you suffer, Louella." I remarked and she raised her head to look at me.

"Don't waste your time on me, Drake. Do something else, just don't waste your time on me." She said softly.

"Well, I don't care if my time would run out as long as I made you suffer, I'd feel better." I stated.

"If you have time for this. Well, I don't, Drake! I don't have time for this! I don't have time for your bullshits!" She yelled as she looked at me feebly.

"Well, I don't care if you don't have time for this. I'll make make you suffer whether you have time for me or none." I remarked and then she raised her head to look at me.

All the colors from her face have been washed out. Her bow-shaped reddish lips are now as pale as her complexion.

"I'll make you suffer, and nothing can stop me from doing that. Did you hear me?!" I growled at her and she looked at me blankly.

"Fine, just don't involve my friends on this." She muttered weakly as she held head.

I took a step towards her and she instantly took a step back.

"Oh, what if I want to involve them on this?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow at her.

I took another step forward but this time, she remained still. I continued walking but she is just rooted on her place while she is looking at me weakly.

I crossed the remaining distance between us and I stopped when I am approximately a few inches away from her. I looked down so I can completely see her face. She is so pale and she looks so tired as if she is about to pass out.

"Well, I still want to play with the three of you before I kick you out of the university." I whispered at her and she just stared at me blankly.

"I still want to play, especially with you, Louella." I added and then I smirked at her.

"I wonder what would I do after-" Louella cut me off.

"Drake-" She said weakly, almost like a whisper.

Her brown eyes looked at me for a moment before she started blinking fast and then her eyelids drooped as her body tumbled. Louella fainted but I caught her waist right before she hits the floor. I pulled her petite body to my chest and there, I felt the heat emanating from her body.

She is just as hot as a freshly baked pizza. I touched her forehead with the back of my hand and I hissed the moment I have touched it which caused me to pull my hand away from her forehead quickly.

She is burning and unconscious. I never thought that her fever is this bad and I honestly do not know what to do.

"Put her down, Drake! Put her down!" Dave shouted and I immediately did what he said.

I gently laid her on the floor, then I sat beside her. I placed her head on my lap and then I looked at Dave confusedly.

"What am I going to do next?" I asked Dave.

"Check her vital signs now." Dave answered as he paced back and forth.

I checked her vital signs and thankfully her heart is still beating and she is still breathing. I am so glad that she is still alive.

"Dave, she's still alive. What do I need to do now?" I asked Dave.

"Try to wake her. Hurry!" Dave instructed and I did as I was told.

I gently patted her cheeks but she is not responding so I tried calling out her name.

"Louella."

"Louella, wake up."

"Hey, wake up."

"Wake up, Louella."

"Louella, come on, wake up."

I shook her body a couple of times but she is not waking up. I called out her name as I shook her body but she is not still responding.

I could not help but worry about her and I do not know why. It was as if last night's incident recurred.

All my life, I have never felt this nervous and she was the first and only woman who made me feel this. I should not be worrying about her but damn, I could not help myself. I do not understand myself anymore.

"Dave, she isn't responding. What do I need to do next?!" I asked as I start to panic.

"Let's bring her to the hospital. Come on, carry her. Hurry!" Dave replied as he began to panic.

"Is she going to be okay, Dave?" I asked worriedly.

"She will be fine. Just carry her, now!" He shouted and I did as I was told.

It was easy for me to pull her body up and carry her because she is as light as a dog. It seems like she had not eaten for a year. Does she ever eat?

"Hurry up, Drake! We need to hurry!" Dave spoke out.

"Will you just shut up?! You're making me nervous!" I snapped at Dave and thankfully, he did not speak again.

I started walking along with Dave who is just as nervous as me. Dread is manifested all over his face as he scratched the back of his head. He looks like he is about to give birth. I wish I could laugh at his reaction right now but that would be inappropriate.

"Drake, you jerk-" Louella grumbled under her breath.

I am quite surprised that she still managed to say those words in her state and I do not know if I should laugh or get pissed off at her remark. This woman is so unbelievable!
