After a few minutes, Andrei came back with three bottles of water, a box of cookies and a box of paracetamol.
He gave Meg a bottle of water and she thanked him. He also handed me a bottle of water and the box of paracetamol and then he placed the box of cookies on top of my table.
"Eat some cookies before you take the medicine." Andrei spoke out as he opened the box of cookies and handed me one.
"Thank you." I replied and then I took a small bite from the cookie.
"Eat some too, Meg." Andrei said as he held out a cookie to Meg.
"Thanks, Drei." Meg replied as she took the cookie from his hand.
I took the box of paracetamol and then I opened it. It is indicated in the box's label that there are fifty pills inside the box. Why did he buy a box of it when he can just buy one or three pills?
"Drei, you bought too many medicines. I won't be sick forever!" I exclaimed as Meg laughed with me.
"I bought those so you would have extra. Give Meg some too." He said as he scratched the back of his head.
"But you bought too much!" I replied as I continued laughing.
"Lou, it's fine. Those pill wouldn't be put in waste since you can use them for a couple of months or even years." He remarked.
"Oh, fine! You bought too much medicines even though you already know that I don't take medicines." I grumbled.
"Just take one pill already! But before that, finish your cookie first." He said as he looked away from us.
He must have felt embarrassed but that is because he cares too much for us. I looked at Meg's direction and gave her a pleading look.
"Meg, please-" I started but Meg instantly cut me off.
"Lou, I won't fall into your charm. You really need to take your medicine." Meg answered as she shook her head.
"But I don't-" Andrei cut me off.
"Seriously, Lou. You need to take the medicine. Come on, it's just a pill." Andrei spoke out.
"Can I just eat cookies and drink plenty of water-" Andrei and Meg cut me off.
"No!" They exclaimed simultaneously and I looked away from them as I scratched my head in dismay.
Oh! I hate taking medicines! Heck, I do not even take vitamins! I get nauseous when I take tablets or capsules and that is because I do not know how to swallow one. More than that, some medicine has bitter aftertaste, so I hate taking any medicine. My friends know it but I am sure, they will not let go of me unless I take one and I am not taking any medicine! Not now, not ever!
"Hey, water therapy is way better than taking medicines! Medicines will ruin my kidneys!" I exclaimed and they both shook their heads in disapproval.
"Your kidneys will only be damaged if you overuse or misuse any medicine. You're sick and you'll take the right one. Come on, you'll be safe!" Meg answered and I shook my head abruptly.
"Drei, please spare me! I'll just drink lots- lots and lots of water. Please, spare me!" I pleaded and Andrei just shook his head as he popped one pill out.
"Don't make this hard for us Lou. Just take one and then we'll let you go." He said and I shook my head at his remark.
"No!" I exclaimed.
"If I am truly your friend, you won't make me do something that I don't want to do. Drei, Meg, I don't want to take it!" I wailed at them and they just stared at me as they shook their heads.
"Please, Drei, Meg. I don't want to take it." I pleaded and they both chuckled at me.
"Okay! We won't force you to take it but I'll take you home now, so you can rest." Andrei said and I let out a sigh of relief.
Finally, I no longer have to take the medicine!
"I told you, I can't skip my classes today. We have exams!" I replied and then he sighed.
"I'll ask your professors to give you the exams early and after you finished them, I'll send you home." He answered.
"But I haven't studied anything! Our professors usually give us ten minutes to review before we take the exams. If you'll ask them to let me take the exams in advance, how am I going to study?" I retorted and he just sighed.
"If you leave the university now and go back tomorrow with a medical certificate and an excuse letter, I'm pretty sure, our professors will give you special exams. More than that, you'll even have a whole day to review your lessons. If you'll do that, you'll have a higher chance of passing the exams." Meg piped up and Andrei nodded his head abruptly.
"Right! You're so brilliant Meg!" Andrei added as he grinned at me.
Well, she has a point but there is one problem.
"But who will sign my excuse letter?" I asked as I bowed my head.
"I'll let my Mom sign it." Meg answered and I sighed.
"Or if you want, I can go to your grandmother after my classes so she can sign your excuse letter." Andrei suggested and Meg nodded at his remark.
"No one will take care of me at home. Don't you think it's better for me to stay here with you so you guys can check on me?" I asked and they looked at me worriedly.
"Our class will end at three o'clock and I'll go directly in your house to take care of you." Meg said as she placed her hand on mine.
"I'll be in your house at five. We'll only be gone for a few hours." Andrei said and I made a grimace.
"Meg will be gone for about seven hours and you will be gone for nine hours! What am I going to do at home?!" I wailed and then I let out a sigh of frustration.
"Rest?" They said in unison.
"Now, choose! I'll send you home or you'll take this pill?" Andrei questioned as he raised an eyebrow.
"Fine! Take me home!" I grumbled and they just laughed at me.
"My class will start at eight. I can't go with you Lou, I'm sorry." Meg said and I smiled at her.
"It's fine, it's Mr. Lorenzo's period. I understand, you can't be late in his class." I remarked.
"Drei, go to me once you get back in the university. Take care." Meg said and Andrei just nodded.
"Won't you be late for your first period class?" I asked Andrei as I stood from my chair.
"No, our first period is at 9:30. Have you forgotten my schedule?" He said and I nodded.
"Bye Meggy, take care and have fun!" I exclaimed and Meg smiled at me as she waved her hand.
"Bye Lou, take care and wait for me there." She replied and I flashed a smile at her.
After Andrei and I bade our goodbye to Meg, we left her inside the classroom. We walked towards the university's parking lot and as soon as we reached his car, he opened the door for me and I sat on the passenger seat. After he got into his car, he immediately started the engine and then we drove away.
I feel so tired and sleepy. I feel like I just want to sleep all day. Oh! I could not wait to get home and sleep in my own comfy bed.
"Hey, will you be okay on your own?" Andrei asked the moment I got out of his car.
"I'll be fine. I'll get inside now. Do you want to have some coffee?" I asked as he closed the door behind me.
"I'll pass with the coffee but let me tuck you in bed before I leave." He replied and I just nodded.
I took out the spare key from my pocket and opened the door. We got inside and then we went inside my room upstairs. I sat on the side of my bed and he quickly kneeled in front of me and then he removed my shoes. I slipped into my bed and he adjusted the blanket just above my chest.
"Rest now, I'll get someone to deliver your lunch later." He said as he caressed my head and I held his hand.
"Silly, don't worry too much! I'll wait for you and Meg." I replied and then he nodded.
"I have to go now, take care of yourself while Meg is not here." He said and I slapped his chest lightly.
"Stop worrying, will you? I'll be fine! Go now!" I said as I chuckled.
"Take care Lou. Call me when there's a problem." He said and I nodded my head.
"Take care Drei, don't forget to go to Meg. Love you!" I replied as I gave him a smile.
"Take care, love you too!" He said as he kissed my forehead and then he left.
I guess, I will just sleep all day. Drake is the reason why I am having a fever today and I am certainly mad at him! I would not be here, lying in my bed alone if it wasn't because of him. I should have been in the university with my friends!
