With the emperor and Wei eagerly waiting for me to try on the dresses I was now holding, I couldn't disappoint them as I went into one of the dressing rooms to try them on as they waited outside for me.
" These dresses are too expensive. How could I possibly accept them?" As those thoughts crossed my mind, I suddenly remembered what the emperor said a minute ago about friendship. He was right when he said that in friendship there were no money issues, but, this was simply too much for a mere friendship, wasn't it? Do friends offer each other these costly gifts every time?"
I tried on one of the dresses anyway. I would find a way later to convince him not to buy me these costly dresses and find something less valuable to give me. I came out of the dressing room ten minutes later.
