Zed turned his pale blue pools towards me, rubbing the back of his head while displaying a sheepish smile. "What was all that about? What exactly were you two talking of?"
My mind was too occupied by Kira's words to acknowledge Zed's question at first, which must've made him concern as I felt his hand gently touch my shoulder. I gazed up and my almond eyes met his pale blue irises veiled by emotion. I unwillingly wrapped around my arms around my chest to protect myself and I sat down while Zed did the same, mirroring my movements perfectly. He didn't even avert his gaze from me, focused wholly on me. I absentmindedly brushed my hands against my arms, as I felt stupid for what I was about to tell him, fearing how he'd react.
"Why didn't no one tell me? Directly...?" Even though my eyes were glued to the ground, I could tell he was confused by the small squeeze of his hand. I corrected my question. "'I'm... the Alpha female..."
