He was surprised to see her again.
Ever since the auction ended, she had seemingly disappeared from the city. No matter how much the hunters of the guild searched, no traces were left behind.
Yet here she was now reappearing right before his very eyes.
Instinctively, he wanted to charge out and question her.
Who was she? What was she doing at the village? And what did she have to do with its destruction?
But Xue Chang held himself back.
He had a much more pressing concern right now, what was she doing with those men?
A cultivator wouldn't fall into their own carnal pleasure so easily. He was positive she wasn't truthful in her words. She was planning something.
Rather than stepping out and confronting her, Xue Chang stayed there, hidden in the shadows.
He slowed down his breathing as he slowly crouched down to see what would happen next.
The men chuckled at her words as one of them stepped forward and slowly caressed her cheek, "Remember those words young lady, we are keeping you to them."
The other men laughed loudly as their eyes slowly filled with lust.
Xue Chang thought the men were pathetic. If they knew how powerful the women actually was they wouldn't be acting this audaciously.
The strange woman slowly raised her hand and traced it against two of the men's faces.
Smiling faintly to the three men, she slowly leaned into one of their ears and whispered, "How about we go to somewhere more... intimate."
With that she skipped away toward a seemingly random direction.
Meanwhile the gangsters were completely captivated by the women.
Xue Chang understood that she was quite the beauty in her own right. With her pearly white and smooth skin, along with the fact that she was "well-endowed" in all the right places, she was someone many people would be captivated by.
But even so, those men seemed too easily entranced by her.
He wondered if she practiced some strange skill that made it easier to seduce people?
"It's probably a seduction type spell."
Yong Heng analyzed the lady quickly and came up with his own conclusion.
"Spell?"
"Yes, spell. It's like how you have skills and techniques, but spells are different. Techniques are a culminations of your fighting capability. A person who trains in martial arts for years develops techniques. Skills are just unique movements or sets in those techniques. It's like how you have a great foundation in using the saber, so you have saber techniques. But that Crescent Slash that you use is a unique skill for your techniques."
Xue Chang nodded in understanding, "And spells are different from both of those?"
"Spells are abilities that outstrip anything a skill or technique can display. Your father's giant fortification is a good example of this. Giant fortification isn't something that just anyone can use. He had to meet some prerequisites and expend a good deal of energy to activate it else it wouldn't have worked. Plus spells have much more serious backlashes compared to skills or technique, but the advantage they give in battle are sometimes well worth the risk."
A ghostly pale apparition of a hand appeared beside Xue Chang's head and pointed toward the group of four.
"Although she hides it well with makeup, you can tell that she is straining herself right now. The skin hidden under all of that powder is extremely pale, almost devoid of blood. Usually spells aren't things a level one Qi refiner would be using. But clearly she is willing to injure herself just to ensnare these three men."
Xue Chang looked at the group and partially listened to Yong Heng's words.
His mind wandered a little as he couldn't help but think to himself how ironic it was that the women down there was supposed to be the beauty, yet Yong Heng's hand seemed even more gentle and feminine than hers did.
Shaking himself out of his reverie, Xue Chang focused on the situation at hand.
"You're right. It's strange enough that a cultivator would be attempting to seduce B rank hunters. But when it is her, the problem becomes much bigger. I think I'll follow them and see what she is up to."
The two of them waited there silently through nearly ten minutes of endless flirting before the three men were finally dragged away by the woman.
Examining the men from a distance, Xue Chang immediately noted that their eyes seemed to be a little foggy and were glossed over.
If it wasn't for their dreamy ramblings and uneven steps, he would've almost thought that they were dead.
"Such a frightening state, spells really are powerful things!"
"You wouldn't need to worry about it though. Although spells are extremely powerful, her strength isn't enough to break through your mental barrier. You'd be unaffected by it. Of course this is only because you, even with it being damaged, have a very unique and powerful soul."
Nodding to himself, Xue Chang quickly chased after the mysterious group.
They all moved around the city in what seemed to be a random fashion. Taking several lefts, rights, and even going around in loops for what seemed like half an hour before the woman finally brought the delinquents into a dark alleyway hidden in the center of the city.
Xue Chang, who was suppressing his presence, snuck in after her to see what was going on. But to his surprise, they four people had completely disappeared from the alleyway.
He quickly ran over in order to see if maybe his eyes were playing tricks on him, but they weren't. Those people were all gone!
Disbelief shrouded Xue Chang's face as he sat down and crossed his legs together. Sitting there silently, he thought about what could've happened.
The thought of asking Yong Heng if he knew anything crossed his mind. But before he could do that, something was caught in the corner of his eye.
A bunch of strange yellow markings surrounded the wall next to him.
If he looked closely, these markings were actually quite familiar.
These were the exact same markings he once saw in the tomb found near the village.
Sudden a thought flashed into his head as he looked down at the ground beneath his feet.
"A tomb!"
