Dazzle was ready to throw her pendant away. She felt used and violated.
She stood up from Noah's bed and rushed out without giving anyone time to realise her movements.
Noah, Lisa, KL and David followed her, panicking with Dazzle's sudden movements.
Dazzle yelled while running, "I don't need this demon. I am going to throw this away." She felt so done with the pendant.
David ran fast after Dazzle. His legs were long and fast.
He pulled Dazzle by her wrist with great force, making Dazzle crash on his chest.
Dazzle landed on David's tight embrace, sobbing.
David shook Dazzle by holding her shoulder visibly mad and said, "We need to end this.
His voice was stern and determined.
"You are not going to throw them away and get away from it." He continued, breathing heavily.
Dazzle sniffled and said, "But how?".
Dazzle feared losing all her friends.
David replied with a stern look, "By how you tried to get out my past truth from me."
Dazzle was shocked and scared. It was something she definitely didn't expect.
Back in the room, when they were reading about the pendant a while ago...
Dazzle used her mind-reading stone, which she found at the old lady, near the sacred river's house, on David to find about him.
She did it secretly from all others.
Dazzle was happy that David said the truth himself and didn't hide his thoughts from them.
Now, Dazzle looked down at her shoes feeling guilty.
David said, "I only said about my past because I knew you were reading me." With a soft smile.
Dazzle apologised slowly and held on to David's jacket.
Her tight grip on David made her feel better and safe.
Lisa was deep in thoughts and curiosity.
Lisa said, "We must know more about this pendant." Filled with eagerness p.
KL, who was sad because of Dazzle's fast and thoughtless acts, said, "Dazzle, act slow and steadily. Calm down."
Dazzle nodded firmly and went back inside Noah's room, hanging her head low.
Everyone came back in and sat at Noah's bed and chair with a thud.
Lisa took the book of the pendant in her hand from the table and let out a long sigh.
Lisa started reading again,
"Chapter 3
Advantages of the pendant
It helps the protector in a difficult situation.
It allows the protector to change his or her face.
It shows them a signal and other information when needed.
It can help them pass through their sadness and pain.
It makes them feel secured and comfortable.
These are the advantages of the pendant but once you go through all of this...there is a surprise.
Once you trust the pendant, it breaks your trust.
The pendant is not controlled by the other protector's soul, but the other protector's soul is controlled by the pendant.
That is you may think that the dead keeper is still with you and is still helping you but no.
This is a way for the pendant to get emotionally attached to you.
You may think the pendant only needs you to sacrifice the people it asked for but no.
The pendant gets more energy when it gets the soul of a person whom the protector loves or loved.
That is, it may start to kill all the person around you and make you feel like you only need the pendant.
Stopping this is hard.
I died because I wrote this book.
So don't tell anyone about the truth and find the main reason for this pendant and destroy it.
Nothing is impossible."
Lisa completed reading and looked at Dazzle with a concerned eye.
She expected the Dazzle to be in tears but Dazzle had a blank expression.
Dazzle was so mad and sad but she was also happy that she knew about the worst thing around her neck now.
Her expression was not readable and not predictable.
Dazzle said, "So...we must find something or someone who is the reason for the pendant's existence." With a fiery eyes gleaming red with fury.
David nodded and said, "I knew about all what the book said at first but I may die if I said them to you." with a equally dangerous eye.
Dazzle nodded because she could understand David.
Noah patted on David's back and said, "It is understandable."
David was relieved that everyone understood him and didn't get him wrong.
David yanked away Noah's hand as he was not used to comforts but still liked it.
Noah chuckled seeing David's immature behaviour.
