"I won't repeat myself again, where is my woman?!" The murderous intent was overflowing from his body that Martin couldn't help but place a hand on his friend's shoulder to try and placate his feelings.
Azriel ignored his friend and tightened his hold on the kidnapper, who flashed him a grin and then started laughing maniacally. He's fistwas about to reach the man's face but he stopped midway and put his hand down, releasing the kidnappers.
"Fighting won't help her right now, Martin go and search the whole perimeter, I want her back, no, scratch that, I need her to be back in my arms" he whispered to Martin and the said man nodded, whispering his promises.
After making sure that Azriel was calm, he left the man with two of his men before heading back inside the abandoned house, the two kidnappers already taken away in separate cars to the police station. Azriel wanted to see blood from the two men but his first priority is the safety of his lover.
It took Martin and his crew a full 2 and half hours to locate Nesryn, much to the relief of Azriel who ran inside the abandoned home. Martin directed him to a hidden passage behind a full-body mirror in one of the rooms. How they found the secret room was beyond him and he went inside the secret room.
He heard whimpering from a dark corner, he pulled out his phone and turned on the flashlight, he followed the sound and it led him to a staircase going down. Azriel glanced at his friend who was beside him and they both nodded. Martin was the first to descend the stairs followed by two guards then him.
A gunshot rang loudly in the quiet room "Get down!" Azriel heard Martin's voice and went down to the ground as instructed. Loud echoes of gunshots resonated around the room, Martin immediately went to his friend's side "We have to go, I need to get you out" he growled out, his senses on high alert.
"I can handle myself, we need to get Nesryn," Azriel stubbornly said, refusing to move as Martin dragged him behind a concrete wall. "Are you mad?! A crazy bastard started a shooting spree and you want your girlfriend?! What would I tell your grandmother if something bad happened to you?!" Martin said, shaking Azriel back and forth, trying to make the man see his reasons.
"I don't care if something happens to me, I promised her she'll be safe with me when I asked her to go out with me. I don't care if I have to risk my life to save hers. She's all that matters to me" every word that came out of Azriel's lips was a heavy burden on Martin's shoulders. He was torn between saving his best friend, the man he owed his life to or the woman his best friend loves the most.
Martin stared at Azriel's eyes for a couple of seconds before letting out a sigh "I'll save the both of you" he whispered before reloading his gun, pushing Azriel behind him as he poked his head out to one side to scan the area. A white cloth entered his line of vision, he quickly scanned the woman's face before turning to Azriel.
"I found her, unconscious on the right side corner behind the madman, she's unconscious and a gash of dried blood on her face, stay here" he went down on the floor and crawled out from behind the wall. Azriel followed him with his eyes, slowly crouching down to hide himself better.
No matter what, Martin promised to protect his best friend and the woman his best friend loved.
Martin signalled his men to move forward and before Azriel knew it a loud echo of a gunshot was fired and a loud thud on the ground. "Azriel" a voice called out and he showed himself and walked over seeing the madman on the floor, clutching his bleeding leg.
Martin might be facing a madman but he doesn't want to kill someone, so he shot the man on the leg to render him unstable before one of his men kicked the man's gun away from grasp.
Martin called for paramedics and they took care of the bleeding man while Azriel was focused on untying Nesryn from a pipe in the dark corner. Martin made his way to his friend and helped him with the ropes around her ankle "Thank you Martin" Azriel whispered, removing the cloth on Nesryn's mouth.
"It's nothing, paramedics!" he yelled to another crew of the white clothed team. Azriel held his lover in his arms as the paramedics checked on her being. After administering first aid, they carried her using a board, before taking her out of the secret room and into the awaiting ambulance, with Azriel hot on their heels.
"Martin, have your men drive my car" he said before tossing his BMW car key to his friend and jumping in the ambulance after Nesryn. He held her hand all the way to the hospital. Once there the emergency room was filled in panic at the sight of the well known billionaire, resulting in kicking him out while they treated Nesryn.
Azriel contacted Kathleen and the woman immediately rushed over to the said hospital accompanied by Nesryn's younger brother, Mikhael. Kathleen's husband reassured her that he'll be fine alone and go check on their daughter, hence why they are both present.
"What happened to my baby?" were the first words that came out of Kathleen's mouth. Azriel then began filling her information about what happened earlier that day. Mikhael tried his best to be strong for his weeping mother and just pulled her to his chest.
It took another hour before the doctor stepped out of the emergency room and faced the family
The patient is stable now, the large gash above her right eyebrow are now stitched, fortunately it looks like she didn't break any of her bones but her whole body might be sore, especially around her ankles and wrist where there are marks of ropes tied"
The doctor looked at Azriel who nodded at him "She was kidnapped two weeks ago in a gas station and was just rescued earlier" the doctor nodded and took note of what was said for the patient charts "How's my daughter?" Kathleen asked and the doctor looked at her before excusing the both of them for a private conversation.
Azriel's eyebrows furrowed at this but Mikhael distracted him by starting a simple conversation and introducing themselves to each other. 30 minutes later, Kathleen and the doctor walked back to them, the woman's face red and puffy, a tissue clenched tightly on her hand. Mikhael stood abruptly and went to his mother, pulling her to his arm.
A sad smile etched itself on Azriel's face, the longing in his eyes as he watched the mother and son in front of him was too much for him to take. He stood up and went to the doctor "May I visit her?" With a sad smile, the doctor nodded and led him inside, he walked a couple of feet before stopping in front of a bed with the curtains closed around it.
He slightly opened it and stood on the side, letting Azriel pass through. Azriel slowly walked in, basking in the sight of his lover. Tears flowed from his eyes at the sight of her pale lover connected through every machine, tracking her health.
The only thing calming Azriel down is the sound of her heartbeat on the monitor. He sat down beside her bed and slowly took her hand in his. He Wanted to let go, her hands were ice cold and he didn't want the feeling of dread creeping up to him. Instead he placed a kiss on her hand just like how he normally does.
He whispered sweet nothings on her ear, urging her to wake up and come back to his arms once again. Azriel stayed by her side till a nurse told him that Kathleen wished to see her daughter and one visitor was allowed inside.
With a kiss on her lips, he left with the promise of seeing her again. He stopped himself from breaking down in front of Kathleen and flashed her a smile before sending a nod to Mikhael. He went to the doctor's office and talked with the man about her hospital room.
Azriel straight up said that he wanted the best room the hospital could offer, he didn't care about the price, he just wanted his lover to be treated with the best of everything. He could sacrifice many things just to see her safe and happy in his arms.
He called his friends, 3 of them were doctors and asked them to come back to the US and he would be hiring them full time to care for Nesryn. The first two agreed immediately in his favor and the other one was hesitant but after telling the whole story he was the first one to book his flight from England to the US.
One was in Asia and the other was in Italy. Their flight and apartments were paid by Azriel. Kathleen found out his plans and tried to stop him, saying that the doctors in the hospital were enough for Nesryn but he simply shook his head and held her hand "I want the best for her" before driving her home with Nesryn's brother.
The hospital kicked them out for the night, telling them that visiting hours were over. Kathleen assured her husband that everything was fine and they had dinner, minus the owner of the mansion, who locked himself up in his room. The butler tried his best to convince his master to come out and eat or take the tray of food by his door but hours passed and the tray was still left untouched.
Alexis -Nesryn's father- made his way upstairs back to their temporary room and noticed the tray of food by Azriel's door, he slowly made his way to the door to not aggravate his health and silently knocked on the door. Azriel didn't answer the door and just buried himself further under the blanket.
Alexis knocked once again and patiently waited for the man "Son? It's me Alexis" he called out, startling the man. He immediately stood up and opened his door, greeting Alexis politely. "I see you haven't eaten your meals yet" he softly said, his voice, though weak, was still deep and husky. Azriel looked at the cold food by his door and just stared at it.
"Nesryn won't like to see you like this, especially if it's because of her'' Azriel stared at the man in front of him, at the age of 56, his appearance was different from what he expected from all the stories Nesryn told him so far about her father. "With Nesryn's conditions, I suggest to not make her worry much '' Alexis placed a comforting hand on Azriel's shoulder and squeezed it.
"My daughter is a fighter and you know that, trust her and she'll be back in your arms soon enough" his comforting fatherly words were enough to break the tough man facade Azriel's been putting up since his lover's kidnapping and tears freely flowed from his gorgeous eyes.
The elder man pulled Azriel in his arms and just held him as he cried. For the first time ever, Azriel wasn't ashamed in showing his raw emotion in front of someone, not just Nesryn. The two men stayed like that for a couple of minutes before Alexis started coughing and Azriel immediately let go of the man, he wiped his tears away and checked on him.
With a smile, Alexis brushed his concerns away and bid him goodbye before going back to their temporary room, two doors away from Nesryn's room in the family wing of the mansion. Azriel watched his retreating figure before calling the family butler and asking for a tray of food to be delivered to his room.
