It seems that Baby Miryo could sense that Selene and Alcyd would leave him under the care of Athena and the High Priestess.
His cries could be heard by the other staff members outside.
"Hush my little Miryo… I will be back soon. Your Aunt Athena would look after you. She is just like me, strong and nice to children…" Selene's words won't pacify the cries of Alcyd's son.
Her words made the young one cry more and held unto her tighter.
This gave Alcyd the chance to convince Selene to stay in the Ancient Palace instead of coming along with him and his older brother.
"Why don't you stay, love? Baby Miryo won't stop crying and won't let you go anyways. And the dragons would be upset if you stay away for long once more," Alcyd continued to convince his mate.
He added, "It will also be dangerous if we bring him along with us. So it's really better if you both stay here. There's no need for you to go with us."
