The next morning I woke up to my mother screaming,
"I swear to God Maria if you don't wake up right this minute I will ground you for life!"
"Why mum what did I do now?" I crocked my voice hoarse from sleep.
"I swear to God you're going to be late for school!"
"What it's only..." I began looking at the clock. "SHIT it's 7:50... I'm gonna be late ughhhh," With that I sprang out of bed and ran into my bathroom. I learned long ago to shower at night because I am not a morning person and would rather stay in bed longer then shower in the morning. After quickly brushing my teeth and washing my face I quickly pull on a pair of black ripped skinny jeans, a black tank top under a black bomber jacket then to finish the look black Nike airs. I know a lot of black but I'm just in that mood. I quickly look at the time to see that it's 8. 10 minutes to do my makeup, if I take longer I'll be late l put my hair up into a messy bun then do my makeup keeping it natural. I check my phone for the time and see that it's 8:08. Perfect I quickly grab my school bag and skateboard and leg it out of the house shouting a quick bye to mum and dad. Once I'm outside I get on my skateboard and take off towards school. Knowing that my brother already left.
I can't wait till I turn 17 next month since I already passed my driving test and have a car but can't drive till I'm 17 because to English law. Sam does drive but I just prefer to skateboard when the weather is good.
Once I'm at school I shove all the stuff I don't need into my locker and then make my way to my form. As soon as I get in I see my friends in the corner. The thing about our form groups is that our school mixes the upper and lower sixth groups together. So I have quite a few friends in Sam's year but Sam isn't in my form.
"Hey guys." I great them when I'm in ear shot. I get courses of 'heys'
"Hey Mari what's up" but our friend James says it extra loud.
"The sky!" I deadpan.
"Oh ha ha you are absolutely halarious Maria." James says in a mock serious tone.
"I know right!" I say with a wink and an extra hair flick for effect. Then I sit down next to Alicja and Helia.
"Hey guys!" I greet them in an extra cheery voice.
They both share a look then look back at me and say together, "okay spill!" I then proceed to tell them every thing that happened yesterday at the mall and am about to tell them the plot twist of him living next door when Alicja interrupts me.
"Hey Maria the guy your describing seems to look a lot like the new guys talking to Mr Perks." I quickly whip around and see that she is right because standing there in all his gorgeous glory is Bailey and next to him a dude that looks exactly like him. After a minute of staring I realise that Bailey has a twin. That thought snaps me out of my staring and I blurt,
"Ohh my fu*king god!" This draws the whole classes attention towards me. Mr Perks also looks at me and raises an eyebrow
"How many times do I have to warn you language Maria!" I guess I said that louder than intended.
"Sorry sir!" I say with an eye roll when he isn't looking.
"Sorry boys that was Maria. She's in year 12 and has problems controlling her mouth."
"I don't sir." I interject "Its just School has this weird affect on me." I hear a snort from behind me,
"Yeh right Mari your worse outside of school at least at school you use fill in words to keep your good girl image up but outside of school you literally have no filter." Harry interjects from behind me. With a huff I stick my toung out at him and collapse in my chair. To my dismay I hear everyone chuckle. I feel soo loved right now (please note my sarcasm).
A few minutes later I hear a voice behind me that makes me shiver,
"Nice to see you again Maria." I turn around to see Bailey and his twin standing there.
"Hey Bailey nice to see you too." I answer with a smile on my face.
"Hey I'm Brody." He interjects with a smirk an his face.
"Hi" I answer already noticing the differences between the two. Bailey has longer hair and wears glasses and has a mole on the side of his face where as Brody has shorter hair and doesn't wear glasses. Even though they are identical twins I still have a preference towards Bailey. Someone obnoxiously clears their throat from behind me and I quickly peg it for James.
"Mari aren't you going to introduce us." James says in an annoying voice.
"Bailey, Brody these are my oh so wonderful friends: James, Harry, Nathan, Reana, Alicja and Helia. Guys this is Bailey and Brody my new neighbours."
"NEIGHBOURS?!!" Alicja and Helia say together their eyes widening with surprise.
"Yep, neighbours." Bailey confirms with a smirk. "By the way neighbour how's your shoulder you didn't answer me yesterday."
This makes me glare at him and say, "Can you just shut the fu*k about my shoulder already!" But unfortunately I say this louder then i was meant to.
"Maria for the last time language. The least you can do is make sure I can't hear."
I smirk at this and say, "No problem sir from now on I'll make sure you can't hear me."
To which he just rolls his eyes and goes back to pretending to do his work. Then I turn back to Bailey and ask, "How do you know about my shoulder anyway?"
"You do know that our windows face each other right?"
"Oh so when I walked out yesterday you saw and why were you spying on me anyway?"
"I wasn't spying, I was just looking out of my window and I saw you."
"Riiiiight!" I drawl
"Let me guess she banged into something while walking out of her room?" Helia asks amusement clear in her voice.
"Yep she banged her shoulder into the door which I'm guessing is a normal thing."Bailey confirms with a delicious laugh that send shivers down my spine. As everyone laughs at my expense I roll my eyes and start to pay attention to sir who is calling the register but my mind is still with the brown eyed boy.
...
"So what do you guys have now?" I ask the twins as we leave form
"I have music." Bailey tells me.
'And I have sports.' Brody adds.
'Wait I think Sam has sports and Alex has music now so I can just tell them to take you guys.' I suggest.
'Who are they?' They both ask at the same time.
'I can just introduce you. They're over there waiting for us.' I tell them pointing at my brother and his friends.
'Didn't someone tell you that it's rude to point Maria?' Noah asks with a raised eyebrow. I just roll my eyes at him and introduce everyone,
'Guys these idiots are my brother and his best friends Sam, Alex and Noah.' I say pointing at each in turn. 'And guys these are the new twins in your year Bailey and Brody.'
'Wait aren't you guys our new neighbours and weren't you the guy who was flirting with my sister yesterday at the mall?' Sam asks with a raised eyebrow and looks pointedly at Bailey. But before Bailey could answer I blurt,
'Wait you knew that he was our neighbour yesterday at the mall? Why didn't you tell me? And we were not flirting!'
'Wait I thought you knew. And I did tell you but you said...'
'It doesn't matter what I said!' I say quickly cutting him off.
'Ohh now I really want to know what you said!' Brody intergects eagerly.
'She said...'
'OK anyway we are going to be late for lesson. Alex Bailey is with you and Sam Brody is with you. Now me and Helia have art and lis has drama so I'll see you guys at break. Sam you can bring them to the spot so see ya.' I quickly say before rushing of and dragging Helia and Alicja with me.
'I'll find out what you said Maria!' I hear Brody call out from behind me. But I just flip him the bird and am about to go down the stairs when I hear a stern,
'Ms James.' And I slowly turn around to see our deputy head standing there with a stern look on his face. I quickly turn around and leg it out of there with Helia and Alicja right behind me softly laughing and the last thing I hear is the boys laughing before I exit the block.
