Once again, Monday has made an appearance.
Roxie still had to enter the same class as Demitri. As much as she was annoyed with him, she enjoyed Demitri's company a little bit. Sure, there were some distractions from him here and there, but he knew his limits for joking. Fortunately, they were not noticed by Nel. Roxie can breathe a sigh of relief.
Several hours later, the class was over.
Everyone has disbanded the class, including Roxie and Demitri. Demitri once again invited Roxie to have lunch with him. Roxie being amiable for the day, she accepted his invitation. Thus, the two of them made their way to the school cafeteria.
As they reached the crowd at the cafeteria, Demitri's friends waved at them.
Demitri then glanced at Roxie, "Do you want to join them? If you don't want to, it's fine with me. We can find always another empty table," he said casually as he looked around for an unoccupied table.
Roxie sighed, 'They're royalties, it would be pretty boisterous if the others saw me eating with them,'
Roxie thought maybe Demitri's suggestion wasn't that bad. But then again, he's also a Crown Prince. There will be lots of killing stares directed to Roxie from his fangirls.
She will have to reject both decisions and will eat lunch by herself. But the intention was delayed. Out of nowhere, a voice called her name.
"Roxie!"
Roxie's eyes searched around the cafeteria for the voice.
"Roxie, over here!"
She then saw Jessie waving her hand from afar. Demitri also notices Jessie.
"Isn't she one of your roommates?"
"Yeah,"
Jessie then shouted again, "Come eat here with us!"
Roxie and Demitri then saw on the table, the four of Roxie's roommates are sitting there.
Demitri then looked at Roxie, "Do you want to eat with them?"
Then he continued, "Or do you want to eat alone with me?" He teased.
Roxie briefly raised an eyebrow, questioning Demitri's attitude. She was about to speak when another voice shouted.
"Hey, how about you girls join us? Our table is big enough to accommodate a lot of people!" Ben asked excitedly, standing up from his table while looking at Jessie's group table where Frey, Skye, and Livy were irritated as everyone's attention was upon them.
Somehow, unexpectedly, they all joined the boys' table. This is due to Ben's repeated requests that made a scene in the school cafeteria. Forcibly, they had to follow his request. Otherwise, they will be the hot gossip at the school that refuses the Crown Prince's invitation.
Ben sighed, "Isn't this great? We now have new friends at our table," He said in a cheerful tone.
Isaac just shrugged as he continued chewing the food. Zef only nodded in agreement while looking at others. Meanwhile, Val grinned.
"Yeah, really great," He smirked at Roxie.
Roxie rolled her eyes at him, but the person next to her didn't. If stares can kill a person, Demitri would have won. He continuously glared at Val.
Val raised his hands in surrender, "Easy there, tiger. I was just joking,"
He then continued darting eyes at the girls at the table one by one.
"Oh, yes, what are your beautiful names, ladies? I believe we haven't introduced ourselves yet. I'm Val," Val winked at Livy. Livy blinked twice in surprise then glanced sideways at her friends.
They were glancing at each other with furrowed eyebrows, disliking Val's behavior.
"Isaac," Isaac replied curtly, glanced briefly at the girls then returned to the food.
"Zephyr. But just call me Zef," He said in a flat tone.
Roxie and her friends were shocked to hear Zef's voice for the first time. It was a bit deep and thick. For some reason, one of the girls who were most attracted to him was Skye. She was intrigued by Zef's quiet and introverted personality.
Roxie and Frey had witnessed Skye's change of expression. However, it wasn't just the two of them alone, Isaac was also secretly inspecting Skye because he could read her thoughts. He then chuckled slightly as he glanced at Zef.
'Hmm, two interesting pairing combinations,' Isaac thought. Then, he pretended not to know anything and continued chewing the food.
"Should I introduce myself too? I thought they already knew our names?" Demitri stared at Ben.
He then deliberately put his arm behind Roxie's chair, it then made Roxie stare sharply at him. Then, she pushed his hand back. Demitri then looked at Roxie with a playful smile.
"Yes, we have to. We have to be polite to the girls, don't you think so, Miss White? Shouldn't we get acquainted with each other?" Ben asked, grinning as he linked his fingers together and placed both hands under his chin on the table while looking intently at Frey who was sitting across from him.
Frey glared at him back with a sharp gaze.
She shrugged, "It's up to you guys. Even without you saying your names, the whole school already knows everything. It doesn't take a genius to not know your names," she replied, crossing her arms, leaning back on the chair.
Ben then nodded in agreement, "Hmm, fair point,"
He then darted his eyes at Roxie, "Then how about your turn to introduce yourself to us? Starting from the lady next to Demitri," He smiled.
Demitri also smirked in agreement, "Yeah, why not introduce your 'full name', instead of your nickname?" He also eyed Roxie with a suggestive look.
Everyone at the table stared patiently at Roxie. The girls looked at her with a concerned look on their faces.
Jessie waved her hands forward, "Hey, hey, why do you suddenly want to know her full name?" She defended Roxie, distracting everyone.
"Because we want to get to know her?" Isaac shrugged as he looked at Jessie.
"But that's people's privacy, you can't force people like that," Livy also defended Roxie in her soft voice.
"Sweetheart, knowing people's names won't harm anyone. It's not even illegal, is it?" Val replied.
Livy pouted as she looked down. Val chuckled, he adored her cute and shy personality.
Roxie sighed, "Girls, it's alright. They just want to know my name. So it's okay, my name is Roxanne Elenora Victoria ...,"
Everyone was waiting for her to say her last name.
Then she continued, "Jones,"
She used her mother's last name to divert the attention away from her.
The girls sighed softly with relief. Meanwhile, the boys were confused by the girls' reactions.
They then turned their attention back to Roxie.
"Nice name," murmured Demitri as he lifted his spoon and ate up his food.
"But it would be great if I changed it to my last name," he muttered very quietly.
Fortunately, no one heard him speak. But there is one person next to him who knows about it, Roxie's cheeks redden when she listened to that. She pretended to look the other way so as not to be caught.
She then coughed, "But, you guys can just call me Roxie," she continued.
Isaac applauded, "Finally! We have the girl's name," he said sarcastically.
Val laughed, "Yeah, since yesterday we wanted to know her name but no one knows. So we just labeled her as 'the girl', 'the girl that fought with Demitri' or as Demitri liked to call her as 'little girl',"
Once again he received Demitri's glare. He then quit laughing.
"The other girls? I only know Freya's name, but what are your names?" Ben asked, looking at Jessie, Livy, and Skye one by one.
"I'm Skye," Skye looked at Ben, then glimpsed at Zef who was staring at her too. She gave him a smile. But, he turned his attention to the food. There was a hint of blush that appeared on his face.
No one could notice it because it was covered with his hand that raised the spoon to his mouth.
Skye took it as a no, she then looked down as her face turned to a gloomy look.
Frey then patted Skye's thigh underneath the table, attempted to cheer her up.
"Heya! I'm Jessie Imogen Mallory Kennedy. Nice to meet ya!" Jessie unnecessarily spits out her full name. She excitedly grinned in her tomboyish attitude.
Isaac just shook his head with her manner.
Ben beamed the same energy as her, "Oh, nice to meet you too!"
Ben then raised his hand up for a high-five but Jessie was too far away to do that. So she outstretches her arms and tapped Ben's palm.
Ben chuckled, then Jessie's hand-stretched back to normal.
Roxie herself was stunned.
"Am I the only one who could never get used to Jessie's super stretching power here?" she asked as she glanced at them all.
They nodded yes.
"What?!"
"We've seen her doing that a lot at tournaments. So, it's normal," Demitri replied, putting his arm back behind Roxie's chair. This time, she didn't notice it at all.
"Oh,"
"Okay, and lastly. What's your name, cutie?" teased Val at Livy.
Livy didn't like hearing that nickname, she scowled, "Olivia. And my nickname is Livy. Not cutie!" she cried out.
Val just chuckled, finding her very cute and adorable.
"Okay, enough with the introductions. We want to take our food. We're hungry," said Frey in a sharp tone.
Ben didn't care how Frey spoke, he still smiled at her, "Sure, sure. Go ahead, we'll be waiting here,"
Frey then stood up from the chair and walked to the cafeteria to order her food. Roxie was about to stand up when she saw Demitri's hand behind her again. She then pushed his hand away before she stood up and followed Frey.
The other girls followed suit behind them.
When the girls were gone, the boys looked at one another.
Val grinned, "They are interesting girls, aren't they?"
Isaac nodded, "Hmm, yeah,"
"They are," Zef muttered but they could still hear him.
Demitri and Ben smirked and nodded in agreement, "They are, indeed," they said simultaneously.
Then they looked at each other in surprise.
After a while, the girls returned to the table with their trays of food. Then they talked a lot with the boys.
It was uncomfortable at first, but gradually they began to open up to each other.
Then, the day ended with the closing joyous emotions for both of the groups.
