Chapter 5 - 5

Kate and Aaron are sitting at the table, without saying anything. Aaron is embarrassed since he was in front of a girl. "I heard from Raymond that you have the same social problems that I have," Kate said as she sipped her coffee.

"Yes, but I have a helper," Aaron said, nodding.

"I get that, but you must also require assistance from someone."

"However, it differs from you."

Kate was perplexed "Could you please describe what kind of assistance you require? I'd like to know."

Aaron takes a drink bill and quickly jots down what kind of support is required. He hands it to Kate, who reads it.

"That's what it appears to be. That's different from what I expected."

Aaron ruffled the paper before slipping it into his pants pocket. Raymond arrives with lunch "So, what do you think? What have you been talking about?"

Kate responded, "We talked for a while about how he was in school. Isn't that right, Aaron?"

Aaron gave a nod, "Kate, you're right. That is correct."

"Try this dish, it's intended to be included in the menu in the next few days," Raymond said as he handed food to the two of them.

Raymond brought them dinner, and they resumed their talk. Aaron sees Kate as distinct from Sandra; for him, Kate is a girl who has suffered but is capable of overcoming that suffering. Aaron, on the other hand, couldn't do what Kate could.

"I have a question for you, Kate. Is it when you're sad that you pour out your heart, or when someone contacts you?" Aaron inquires of Kate after they have finished their meal.

"When I'm feeling bad, Ray will text me. He always knows how to keep people entertained. For example, after discovering that he hangs out with me, he entertained me while I was bullied by my classmates."

"Yes, I see. Ray is a person who enjoys entertaining..." When Aaron learned that Ray enjoyed entertaining people, he smiled mischievously.

"Was he the only one in the family that was different?" Kate inquired.

"No, he was not. He is the only one in the family who does like to entertain, though not as amusingly as you might suppose. The stories he likes to tell can make people feel strange about him.," Raymond glazes his eyes at Aaron as Aaron laughs.

Watch your mouth, Aaron. – Raymond.

"Hahaha, you're funny Raymond. You didn't tell me about this.," Kate punches Raymond's hip.

"Sorry, I'm shy to tell this to you."

The three of them talk a lot in the café, talking about themselves without shame.

Outside of the café, Kate approaches Aaron, "Hey, Aaron."

"What?" Aaron looks at Kate.

"Be yourself if you're afraid, okay?"

"Be me… Okay."

"I'm glad you understand what I mean. See you around, Aaron.," Kate parts ways with Aaron.

Kate goes home with her motorcycle, leaving him alone before Raymond gets out of the café.

"Ah, man… Does Kate get home?"

"Yes, she does. What do you want with her?"

"I'm just want to give her my new creation, a cookie.," Raymond looks disappointed while look at his cookie.

"A cookie? Can I have some?" Aaron wants Raymond's cookie.

"Sure, you can. Have some."

Aaron took a bite of Raymond's cookie, "Holy heavens! This cookie is good!!"

"Really? I'm glad you like it, man.," Raymond smiles at Aaron.

"Wow, if you have more cookies, I want to bring them tomorrow."

"Are you sure, Aaron?"

"Yeah, I'm sure of it."

"Okay, wait for a sec.," Raymond enters the café to brings out more cookies.

I hope Sandra likes the cookie. – Aaron.
