Chapter 77 - Drawing

I looked back at Isaiah; he tilted his head in confusion as he remained seated.

"Same place, same time, Zay. Please enjoy the dessert. I have something I have to do." I smiled at him.

He nodded.

"Amie, just so you know, if you need someone to talk to… I want you to rely on me. Even if it's just a shoulder to lean on. I want you to trust me. I would never betray you." He smiled as he got up and walked towards me.

What a sweet boy. He is so young, yet he speaks like a well-mannered adult.

I smiled and hugged him.

"Thank you, Zay. You are a true friend."

We parted ways, and I was escorted back to the emerald palace. After my usual night routine, I sat by my vanity and waited for Marina to finish her task so she could help me write the letter.

"What a lovely drawing, Princess! You are getting better and better each time! His majesty will be impressed. Who is this?" Marina questioned with joy as she pointed at the child-like drawing.

"That is uncle Ezra and daddy. The one with the crown is daddy." I explained.

"Oh! Are they…. On a red hill?" Marina asked nervously.

"Those are dead bodies stacked on top of each other. You could say it's a hill of dead bodies. They won the war, so they are celebrating by being on top of the hill made by dead bodies. See? This is daddy's sword, and he has his arms up. He is claiming his victory for another country he has taken down." I continued to explain in a serious tone.

Marina's face color changed to ghost-white. Her eyes grew by the second as I continued to explain my drawing.

"Oh, my… Uhm… Princess, perhaps you could use another drawing, hmm? This is a bit… violent… how do you know about… Uhm… what a creative imagination you have." Marina stuttered from nerves.

"No. I want to send this. It means that they have to win. This drawing is proof that daddy and uncle Ezra will be undefeated at war. I think daddy will like it. Are you ready to help me write the letter? I want to get to bed and sleep soon." I stated as I looked up at her.

She cleared her throat and nodded.

"I will be right beside you, helping you, as usual, Princess." Marina cheered as she sat next to me.

As I held the large calligraphy pen, I thought about what I was going to write about. Actually, I am annoyed that all I do is write, and he doesn't even bother to write back to me. I will mention it in the letter. Let's do this.

As I reviewed my final product, Marina was preparing the letter stamp.

'Dear daddy,

It's me, Amara. I decided to write about something else today. I always write about what I ate, what I did for my classes, or what I had for my meals. That's boring, isn't it? Why do you want to read about the same thing? I made this drawing today. It's you and uncle Ezra. You are the one with the crown and cape. You and uncle Ezra seem happy on top of the hill made out of dead bodies, right? You know what this means, right? You have to hurry up and kill everyone so you can come back home. I will be very sad and mad if you miss my first birthday party. Unless you want me to hate you forever, you need to hurry up and come back home.

P.S Marina got upset because I drew this. It is not her fault for the drawing. So you don't have to kill her or her family.

P.P.S I am getting sick and tired of how you want me to write these boring letters every day, and you don't write back to me. Are you telling me you don't have five minutes to spare and write back to me?

Okay, bye

Amara'

Marina folded both pieces of paper and placed it inside the letter, followed by sealing it with the imperial stamp candle logo.

"I think that is my best letter yet. This was fun." I smiled as I got up and walked towards my bed.

"Giodivonian gods, please help me with this child. I hope this letter does not cause a stir." Marina mumbled as she placed the letter in her apron pocket.

"I have to send this letter off. I will be back for the bedtime story." Marina explained as she adjusted my pillows.

I nodded and smiled.

"Thank you for letting me write freely in today's letter. I feel better being able to write that." I stated.

Marina smiled and kissed my forehead.

"I think it is healthy to express your true feelings time to time, Princess."
