"Is this fixable?" Shadow asked. "Yes, yes it is." He answered his own question. "But only if you stop sleeping with that woman. She's making you weak."
These words ran over and over again in Hood's mind on repeat.
Was this worth it? Was having a relationship with Lilith -even though he didn't consider what they had between them as a serious relationship- worth it?
He didn't like the fact that his relationship with Shadow was dissipating. He wanted their relationship to be what it was before Lilith had come to their lives.
The fact that he couldn't have both of the goodies; Lilith and his long term friend and self, Shadow, was another distressing thing.
"Do you love me?" Lilith asked.
Hood didn't want to look at her. He could smell the wave of emotions that ran throughout her body. He could smell what she felt. He could smell what she felt for him.
Did he feel the same for her?
