Chapter 45 - Prologue: An Insight to the Great Kirin Lord.

According to the papers in Kiko Library of History, at the 7th day of the 7th month in the year of the Earth Ox, Lord Iwasawa Hiroshi came back to Naka city without bearing his new Kirin banner. The people, who was unaware that their lord has received such a prestigious title, simply cheered for his return and he would kindly wave at them. This act of humility from such a great man confused and amused many historians and heralds of later years. They were divided in their opinions about the matter. There were those who thought that the young lord was simply being humble while some said that he hid the truth to avoid having the spies who are still at large at that time, to know and report such an achievement.

Regardless of his reasons, the Kirin banner would later be flown in a battle following the solidification of the Southern Quartet Alliance (Later called the Alliance of the Four Divine Beasts) against several provinces forced to battle against them by the fabricated Shogunate instated in the capital by the Northern Coalition. This struck fear, not just as a brutal fable to the soldiers, but for the sheer brute force wielded by those who fought under the flag. Yet to those who were saved by these men, that flag was a symbol of peace and salvation. A lifelong remembrance to them that someone has finally emerged from the heavens to bring the country back to its peace.

Or at least, that was how it was… Until those that started all of this, began to make their move as well. For just like how it is described in the history texts of this Japan, the cold and relentless winters of the north encroached to spread its influence out from its borders.

And in that alliance, one man was named as the sole rival of the Great Kirin Lord.
