"I was told that we would have to help the other volunteers with bringing food and supplies to the refugees. There's also a chance that we might be guarding them when the volunteers leave."
"Why can't the local law enforcement protect them?" Asked Vemore, "I understand helping with the supplies but why guard them? Have things gotten that bad?"
Tezria nodded, "Yes, it has. You see, hijo, similarly to how the law enforcement in the United States have turned a blind eye to the freed slaves and the various different immigrants, the law enforcement in multiple European countries have ignored the demi folk community."
"Demi folk?" Asked Vesmore.
"Any race that isn't human but is very humanoid," responded Tezria, "Races such as elves, dwarves, and certain types of fey."
"How come we don't have demi folk here in the Americas?"
