As a young man out in sea
Life really is your oyster
I smuggled
plundered
& killed with the best of them
Hell
I did it to the best of them
& after being the ship's quartermaster for some time
I felt that my captain taught me everything he knew
& left
but promised them that I would plunder them dry
dead or alive
Time passed
& eventually I had my own crew
& a ship that just killed the owner to be apart from
I was the captain of one of the most ruthless band of ruffians the sea ever had sailing
with tales spreading faster than scurvy
On one night
my quartermaster continuously banged on my door
only to jump off the ship and swim away
followed by the rest of my crew
I had a hunch of what was going on
but had to see it for myself
So with a piece of cotton in each ear
I kicked the door off the hinges
& saw 3 bird-like creatures with the heads like women perched on a cliff in the distance
I heard the legends but they were just that
legends
stories drunk sailors seeking status or entertaining shared
Sirens
They are the bane of every sailor
for their voice causes the listener to reject their senses
& go mad with desire for them
When all that was left was me
& my ship
I took out my cigar
lit it In my mouth
& took a good look at the distance between me
& the sirens
I then took a deep breath and shot the birds in the heart before they took flight
When I had reached a nearby port
I had spread the rumor that the sea finally got Blackbeard
& his crew
I then changed up my attire
& changed the color of my beard to blue
For the sea finally for his man with his crew
I did however kept the heads of the birds that took my crew as souvenirs from the sea
