Qin Yifan took calm and predetermined strides towards his father's Chambers, oblivious to the fear and fire he had aroused in Su Wang. Taking a deep breath, the young prince entered the sealed room residing in the floor next to the bed where the lifeless body of the king laid.
He just sat there and talked, he said everything and nothing. From time to time, he would just sit there and watch his father let out slow, weak breaths and it broke his heart knowing he was at fault. Although no one talked about it, Qin Yifan was the reason the king was bedridden that is why he took his magic as a curse rather than a gift from the gods.
"I found her." he announced gloomily, those three words stirring up alien emotions.
"She is the most beautiful woman I have ever laid my eyes on, her eyes they sparkle with innocence and purity and I do not want to taint it." he let out a pained laugh "She is better off without me but I can't see her go, not with all those perverted men out there, I find it difficult to do so. I need your blessings father..."
Touching the king's hand, Qin Yifan found it unusually cold, he tried to revive his senses with his magic but the current was repelled by the king's body. If he would pump the magic in him, it would boomerang back to Qin Yifan's own body. The young prince was left perplexed.
Once again the blinding light burst inside the room, the prince closed his eyes for a moment but soon opened them to face the old sage.
"Master Lee," he greeted indifferently his eyes fixed on his father's pale form sparking with helplessness.
"You can no longer keep him alive Qin Yifan, let him go and rest with our ancestors..." Master Lee said slowly and calmly contrasting the prince's swirling emotions.
"I can not let him die!" Qin Yifan shouted helplessly, " He cannot die,"
"There some things beyond our control young prince, and this is one of those things." he said bitterly facing the opened window, watching the clear night sky turn thunderous.
"How long?" the prince asked slowly his tone showcasing his defeat.
"Until dawn," the sage answered immediately, "If you wish to speak to him, just place your forehead upon his and you will enter the ender realm in which you cast him into."
'in which you cast him into.' this phrase repeated in Qin Yifan's mind and the heavy feeling in his heart intensified his face harbouring guilt. Reluctantly, he stood up and leaned his face close to his father's a stray tear falling from his eyes. He quickly bit his tongue to stop the tears from falling and gently placed his forehead on the king's.
Qin Yifan felt as if his body was sucked into a wormhole as an intangible force pulled him into the endless abyss. His body was then thrusted forward, the force disappearing and now his body was accelerating freely falling endlessly. Urged to open his eyes, Qin Yifan scanned his surroundings. When he looked up all he could see was a darkened sky with blood red clouds and below, was a lake with black water reflecting light from the silver moon. All this was accompanied by loud cry's, it would be difficult for the prince to find his father in such a place.
Meanwhile Su Wang was unable to sleep, she was standing by the window watching lightning ignite in the sky along loud thunderous growls. She had twisted and turned in the bed for over an hour, sleep refusing to consume her.
Clutching her stomach, she muffled a scream, her mark itched painfully as if someone was continuously hurled knives at her abdomen. The pain had been there for sometime now, at moments she was collapse to the floor unable to stand through the pain while ago others her stomach was itching slightly that it almost became numb.
All her thoughts relayed to Qin Yifan, it was the mark she had of him that caused her this amount of pain. Not knowing the reason why her or how all this happened, Su Wang could only let her thoughts run for the hills as she waited for his return.
Qin Yifan was barreling through the vast wasteland as he let his magic loose and consume his entire body emitting a dark flame around him. He was lost, unable to find a way to his father. Thousandsof demons surrounded him, ferociously attacking him. With a familiar flame burning inside of him, he mindlessly slaughtered and ripped the demons apart.
Suddenly his arm started to itch, he could feel and invincible blade scratching his skin.
Su Wang started feeling strange, bruise marks started appearing on her skin but after a few minutes they would disappear as if it was not there before. At this moment the pain intensified further, her body limp on the floor but the marks did not stop soon claws etched themselves onto her skin.
She looked at her body with confusion and bewilderment, trembling in fear. All she could think of was the prince, she could sense he was in danger but how was she supposed to send him a message when she did not know where he had gone? Eyeing a dagger at the other end of the room, she crawled over removing the dagger from the fruit basket piercing her forearm with it, hoping the bizarre tactic she had to communicate with the prince would work.
'stop.' the word appeared in small letters on Qin Yifan's forearm and he immediately halted his stance. He looked at the words in bewilderment until they disappeared as if they not there before an ache waltzing through his heart.
He looked up at the advancing demons and closed his eyes, thinking about his father, all the memories he had of him flashing right before him. He felt his feet leave the ground slowly an invincible force pushing him in an unknown direction soon he came face to face with a man who was about to jump inside a portal but it was impossible for him to do so as his feet were in shackles rooted to the ground.
The man tried countless times to jump it was pulled down to the scorching earth underneath him.
"Father!" Qin Yifan called out in a small broken voice. The man turned around and looked at him with a frown.
"What do you want!" the man spat, mistaking his son for one of the demons. The words were a tough blow on the young man, they carried pain, desperation and hatred.
"Father it's me..." he said again desperately, hoping to get some recognition from him but to his disappointment the man just stared at him blankly and this time he did not hold back the heavy tears from falling.
