In the dormitory, Damon was taking a shower unaware his phone had been ringing. The sound being drowned out by the hot water. He slides open the door, steam pouring out and filling the small bathroom as he steps out. Grabbing a towel off the rack he secures it around his waist and enters his bedroom. Damon walked into the dim lit room and made his way towards the table where his phone had been charging. Picking up the device he swipes at the screen and unlocks it. He notices a missed call and the subsequent messages left.
"Damon, my son, how have you been? Wear something warm today, I heard it gets cold around this time of year at your island."
-Mother dearest
Damon couldn't help but click his tongue in annoyance and scoffs, "Don't act like you care." He stared at the screen with a scowl plastered on his face, furiously tapping his phone as he wrote out a reply but gave up halfway and deleted the message. Smacking his phone down back onto the table.
He claps twice, the quaint room lit up as if by magic. Simple dark furniture adorned the room. A pile of books lay neatly stacked beside his study desk. Casting aside his bath towel he quickly changed into his uniform. He made his way out of his bedroom, slamming the door behind him in a huff. Damon strides through the school's corridors deep in thought. Not minding where he was going he accidentally bumps into someone. It was Rukoro.
The man flared up in anger and grabbed Damon by the collar of his shirt, "Well, well, who do we have here?" he said in an irritated tone."It is I, the Nerd." Damon mockingly said while rolling his eyes. The students hurriedly scurried out of the corridor, no one wanting to get involved in the situation. Damon heaved out a sigh before he spoke, trying to keep calm, "Do you remember the first rule of our school?"
"What are you getting at, Nerd?" Rukoro spat. "Rule #1: No fights are allowed inside the school premises unless it's in the arena." Damon answered, the corner of his lips curling into a cocky smirk. "You don't even remember the first rule. How can you expect to become an elite at this rate? Pathetic." He sneered. Rukoro shook with rage. He grit his teeth and spoke out in a low growl, "Do you think you're any better, Nerd? You will never become an elite as w--"
Before he could finish, Rukoro caught sight of a teacher walking down the corridor. He clicked his tongue in annoyance and released his grip on Damon. He gives Damon one last venomous look, and angrily stomps his way to his classroom. The teacher slowly approached Damon as Rokoro left their sight. "Damon, don't meddle with those kinds of people." He chastised. Damon remained silent. "Now get to your class." The teacher added with a sigh and walked off. Damon nods at him and straightens out his uniform, walking back down the corridor to his classroom.
He eventually arrived by the door and could hear his classmates gossiping. "Have you heard? Damon the Nerd and Rukoro the Bully faced off against each other." one said. "Cat and dog fight first thing in the morning." said another.
"News sure travels fast..." Damon muttered under his breath as he entered the classroom.
